18 Troubleshooting
Fault
The high-pressure pump
switches on and off
repeatedly, without the
trigger of the spray gun
being pressed.
The working pressure
fluctuates or drops.
The water jet has changed
shape.
Additional detergent is not
drawn in.
Connections on pressure
washer, high-pressure
hose, spray gun or spray
lance are difficult to
connect to each other.

Cause
The fuse rating of the socket is too low.
The electric motor is too warm.
The high-pressure pump, the high-pressure
hose or the spray attachment are leaking.
There is a water shortage.
The nozzle is blocked.
The water intake screen or water filter are
blocked.
The high-pressure pump, the high-pressure
hose or the spray attachment are leaking or
defective.
The nozzle is blocked.
The nozzle is worn.
The bottle is empty.
The nozzle of the spray set is blocked.
The connection seals are not lubricated.
Remedy
► Plug the connecting cord into a socket with
the correct fuse rating, @ 19.1.
► Allow the pressure washer to cool for
5 minutes.
► Clean the nozzle.
► Ask a STIHL servicing dealer to check the
pressure washer.
► Open water tap completely.
► Ensure that a sufficient quantity of water is
available.
► Clean the nozzle.
► Clean water intake screen and water filter.
► Ask a STIHL servicing dealer to check the
pressure washer.
► Clean the nozzle.
► Replace nozzle.
► Fill bottle with detergent.
► Clean nozzle of the spray set.
► Lubricate the gaskets @ 18.2
