TEST OF THE DIRECTION OF PHASE ROTATION
4.3.1 Description of the function
This function is used to check the order of the phases in a three-phase network using 2 cables ("2-
wire" method, sequential measurement) or 3 cables ("3-wire" method, static measurement).
The "2-wire" measurement, which is simple, is well suited to tests on distribution frames.
The "3-wire" measurement is preferable in the case of tests on motors, generators, etc.
Note: The phase order is indicated after the acquisition of one reference period (time) then one
measurement period (time).
Remark - Possible cause
The temperature of the instrument is too high: the
measurement is stopped. Pressing the
effect until the temperature of the instrument is again below
60°C; another measurement can then be started.

The test is broken off (no non-tripping test)
Unplanned tripping of the RCDr (measurement current +
leakage current too high): the measurement is broken off.
The RCD failed to trip in the 2
RCD defective in pulse mode.
The RCD tested tripped during the loop measurement ;
there is a reversal of the N and PE terminals.
The type of test chosen is incompatible with the assigned
current of the RCD (see the tables of § 4.2.2.2)
The RCD failed to trip although the current was greater
