OPERATION
NESTING CROWN MOLDING AGAINST THE
MITER FENCE
See Figures 36 - 37.
NOTE: This saw is capable of cutting crown molding up to
6-1/2 in. tall. The size and number of block stops needed
to support the molding will vary.
 Using scrap material, make one, or if needed, two block
stops to support the crown molding while cutting.
 Line up scrap block against the lower edge of the crown
molding and hole in the miter table. Hole in table should
line up with center of block.
 Mark the block and drill a 3/8 in. hole through the block.
 Align hole in block stop with the hole in the saw base.
 Fasten block stop securely to the miter table with a 1/4 in.
washer and 1/4-20 x 1.25 in. screw.
 Tighten the fence screws to secure the fences in place.
 Set the bevel angle at 0° and the miter angle at 45° to
either the left or the right. (For making 90° corners.)
 Nest and secure the crown molding against miter fence
and the block stop, as shown in figure 36.
 Hold the molding as shown in figure 37 with your hand
on miter fence and molding.
 Before turning on the saw, perform a dry run of the cutting
operation to make sure that no problems will occur when
the cut is made.
 Grasp the saw handle firmly. Squeeze the switch trigger.
Allow several seconds for the blade to reach maximum
speed.
 Slowly lower the blade into and through the crown
molding.
 Release the switch trigger and allow the saw blade to
stop rotating before raising the blade out of the crown
molding and removing the crown molding from the miter
table.
