To install a new i lter cartridge, proceed as
follows:
Preparing and installing the BRITA
MAXTRA i lter cartridge
► Remove the i lter cartridge's protective
packaging.
► Immerse the i lter cartridge in cold tap
water and shake it lightly (for about i ve
seconds) to remove any air bubbles.
► Take the i lter holder out of the water
tank and i rmly insert the cartridge into
the holder until you hear a click.

► Hold the i lter holder under the water
tap and i ll it with fresh, cold water;
let the water run through the BRITA
MAXTRA i lter cartridge.
► Repeat this procedure two or three
times.
► Place the i lter holder with the i lter
cartridge back into its position in the
empty water tank and i ll the tank with
cold tap water.
► Hold down start/stop button for at least
5 seconds to delete M.
Note: To replace the cartridge, simply
pull on the strap attached to the top of the
cartridge. When installing a new cartridge,
follow the above steps for preparing and
inserting a cartridge.
Tip: We recommend you always have
a few MAXTRA replacement cartridges
handy.
When you purchase a new BRITA
M AXTRA cartridge, pay attention to
the picture of the BRITA MAXTRA i lter
cartridge on the package.
