PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING THE BORE GAGE
• Do not measure a rotating part; it is dangerous and
will cause contact faces to wear
• Do not expose the gage to direct sunlight or
extreme temperatures
• Avoid mechanical shocks or fast movements that
may damage the instrument
• Do not use compressed air on the indicator as this
can contaminate the indicator gear train
• Do not disassemble the gage
• Manually tighten the bezel lock, cover lock screw
and contact point lock nuts
• If the bore gage is not in use for a long period of
time, release the indicator preload
• Do not wash or immerse the bore gage in any liquid.
When cleaning the instrument, use a dry cloth or chamois
• Keep the bore gage clean and dry; avoid handling
it with oily hands
• Keep the instrument, preferably, in its own original
package; avoid leaving it with other tools
