The Q.E.P. #60020 Tile Saw is shipped with the belt set for the lower RPM setting `
(1750 RPM). To change speeds:
|
1. UNPLUG THE SAW FROM YOUR POWER SOURCE.
2.
Loosen and remove the belt guard screws and take off the belt guard.
3.
DO NOT loosen the (2) front motor-mount screws.
|
4.
Gently loosen the motor adjustment clip on the very rear of the motor
`
|
mounting plate.
"er
5. Carefully nudge the motor slightly forward so there is a little slack in the belt.
6.
Holding the top of the belt, turn the belt clockwise while pulling the belt over the inside pulley lip onto the outside
pulley. Do the same to both ends so that the belt lines up in a straight line.
7.
To set your saw at the LOW speed setting (1750 RPM) place the belt in the smaller OUTSIDE pulley grooves. To set
your saw at the HIGH speed setting (2450 RPM) place the belt in the larger INSIDE pulley grooves, closest to the motor
mount casting.
,
8.
Slide the motor back so that the belt is at its original tension and retighten the motor-adjustment bolt and the rear
motor-mount screws. The belt should not be too tight. Test by pinching the belt in the middle — the two sides should
give a little. Turn the blade by hand to make sure the motor and blade turn freely.
9,
Replace the belt guard.
10. If the blade will not turn when the saw is restarted, the belt is too tight. Loosen the motor adjustment clip and restart
the saw.

|
11. Reconnect the saw to your power source.

SAW OPERATION
1.
2.
Make sure you have read this manual completely before operating your saw.
Make sure that there is sufficient water in the water pan to cover the inlet on the water pump, and that water is being
supplied to the saw blade before attempting to cut any material.
Make sure your material is positioned properly on the saw table before beginning your cut. Feed your material slowly
into the blade. DO NOT force material. The blade will cut smoother and faster if these steps are followed.
ALWAYS practice SAFETY FIRST. Wear eye safety goggles, a dust mask and gloves when operating this saw. Discard
cracked, bent, chipped, or damaged blades.
