Warnings

Special caution must be exercised for patients with BMI greater than 30.
Reuse of this single-patient-use device creates a potential risk of patient or
user infections. Contamination of the device may lead to injury, illness or death
of the patient.

Aspiration Kit contains the following components:
One (1) Set of Lightning Bone Marrow Aspiration Cannula and Plunger
One (1) Lightning needle Adapter
One (1) 60-mL Syringe
Two (2) 30-mL Syringes
One (1) 200 Micron Blood Component Filter
One (1) 3-Way Stopcock
Four (4) Sterile Syringe Caps
One (1) 18-Gauge Needle
200 Micron Blood Component Filter
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Intended Use
To filter clots and other particles from blood and blood components for delivery.
Directions
IMPORTANT: Use aseptic technique. Single patient use.
1.
The filter should be transferred to the sterile field using proper technique.
2.
Remove the filter and close the clamp on the filter.
3.
Remove the vent cap from the distal (bottom) end of the filter (clamp end).
4.
Luer connect the male port of a three-way stopcock to the open, distal end of
the filter.
5.
Luer connect a 60mL syringe to the female port of the three-way stopcock that
is directly across (180°) from the port attached to the filter.
6.
Luer connect a syringe (10mL minimum) to the side female port of the three-
way stopcock. Label this syringe with "Heparin". (Heparin not included in the
kit)
7.
Draw 10mL of Heparin (concentration of 1000 units/mL) into an additional
Heparin-labeled syringe.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the patient record has been checked for
history of Heparin allergy. For patients with a Heparin allergy, ACD-A
should be used as the anticoagulant in place of Heparin.
8.
Remove the proximal vent cap from the filter assembly and luer connect the
Heparin-filled syringe to the open, proximal end of the filter assembly.
