Safety instructions for cordless
leaf vacuum/blowers
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illus-
trations and specifications provided with this
power tool.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result
in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Keep all safety information and instructions for future
reference!
5.1
Instructions
a) Read the entire operating manual before using the
product.
b) The product shall not be operated by persons (includ-
ing children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
abilities or who have inadequate experience or knowl-
edge.
c) Note that the operator or user is responsible for acci-
dents or hazards to other people or their property.
5.2
Preparation
a) Wear hearing protection and safety goggles during the
entire operating period.
b) Do not use the product barefoot or with sandals. Wear
sturdy footwear and long trousers.
c) Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery that
could be drawn into the suction opening. Keep long
hair away from the suction openings.
d) Only use the product outdoors (i.e. not close to a wall
or another rigid object) and on a solid, level surface.
e) Do not use the product on a surface paved with gravel
where ejected material could cause injuries.
f) Always carry out a visual inspection before use to
check that the shredder, the bolts of the shredder and
other fasteners are secured, that the housing is un-
damaged and that the guards and shields are in
place. Replace worn or damaged components in sets
to maintain balance. Replace damaged or illegible la-
belling.
g) Check the power supply and the extension cable for
signs of damage or ageing before use. If a cable is
damaged during use, disconnect the mains connec-
tion cable from the mains immediately. DO NOT
TOUCH THE CABLE UNTIL IT HAS BEEN DISCON-
NECTED FROM THE MAINS. Do not use the product
if the cable is damaged or tattered.
h) Never operate the product while people, especially
children, or animals are nearby.
5.3
Operation
a) Before starting the product, make sure that the feeder
is empty.
b) Keep your face and body away from the feed opening.
c) Make sure your body is balanced and that you have a
secure stance.
d) Avoid abnormal postures.

e) When feeding material, never stand on a higher level
than the level of the base of the product.
f) Do not stay in the ejection area when operating the
product.
g) Ensure that hard objects such as metal, stones, glass
or other foreign objects are not contained in the mate-
rial being thrown in.
h) If a foreign object is hit, switch off the product immedi-
ately and remove the battery. Inspect the product for
damage and perform the required repairs before start-
ing again and working with the product. If the product
begins to experience exceptionally strong vibrations,
switch it off immediately and check it.
i)
Do not allow processed material to accumulate in the
ejection zone as this can prevent proper ejection and
cause re-introduction of material via the feed opening.
j)
Switch off the product and remove the battery if the
product becomes blocked and you are clearing it of
debris.
k) Never operate the product with defective guards or
without safety devices.
l)
Make sure that the product is free of waste and other
accumulations to safeguard the product from damage
or possible fire.
m) Do not transport or tip the product when it is in opera-
tion.
n) Do not leave the product unattended.
o) Do not use the product in a thunderstorm - Danger of
lightning strike!
p) Only work in daylight or with good, artificial lighting.
q) Ventilation openings must always be free.
r) Switch off the product before attaching or removing
the collection container.
Residual risks
The product has been built according to state-of-the-
art and the recognised technical safety rules. Howev-
er, individual residual risks can arise during opera-
tion.
• Damage to hearing if the stipulated hearing protection
is not worn.
• Damage to the lungs if the stipulated respiratory pro-
tection is not worn.
• Damage to eyes if the stipulated eye protection is not
worn.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety Instruc-
tions" and the "Intended Use" together with the oper-
ating manual as a whole are observed.
• Use the product in the way that is recommended in
this operating manual. This is how to ensure that your
product provides optimum performance.
• Furthermore, despite all precautions having been met,
some non-obvious residual risks may still remain.
