BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE
FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND
CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO
THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USER
The intended user should be the patient, a licensed
healthcare professional, or the patient's caregiver.
The user should be able to read, understand and
be physically capable of performing the directions,
warnings and cautions in the information for use.
INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS
The ankle brace is designed to provide support and
stabilization for conditions, such as ankle ligament
tears, sprains, and chronic instabilities.
• Chronic ankle instability - Weak ankles due to
ligament damage and over stressed ligaments
• Acute ankle sprains & strains - Over stretched
and/or torn ankle ligaments
• Prophylaxis - Helping to prevent reoccurring
ankle injury and returning to daily activities
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
The ankle brace is designed to provide support
and stabilization for a wide range of conditions
including, ankle ligament tears, sprains, chronic
instabilities and post-operative use.
For maximum comfort and support, wear an
absorbent sock and a laced athletic shoe when
wearing the brace. Take care not to damage
clothing when attaching/ detaching hook and loop
straps. Soft-good/semi-rigid designed to restrict
motion through elastic or semi-rigid construction.
CONTRADICTIONS
If you have skin disorders/injuries in the relevant
part of the body, the product should be fitted
and worn only after consultation with a medical
professional.
Do not use if you are allergic to any of the
materials contained within this product.

We recommend that the first application be made
under supervision of a healthcare professional.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
For maximum comfort and support, wear an
absorbent sock and a laced athletic shoe when
wearing the brace.
BOA® LACING SYSTEM (FIG. 3)
To Loosen BOA (Fig. 3a):
• Lift BOA knob
• Pull the lacing
• To Close and Tighten BOA (Fig. 3b):
• Push BOA knob down and then turn clockwise.
• BOA knob must be in the down locked position
when wearing brace.
PHASE I – IMMOBILIZATION (Strong stability)
• Loosen the laces, unfasten straps and open
brace.
• Slide foot into the back of brace. Pull the lateral
shells upwards and align with the sides of the
ankle (Fig. 0).
• Close the straps according to numbering:
• 1. Pull the top strap around the back of the calf
and fix to the external side of the brace without
tightening too much (Fig. 1). This helps position
the lateral shells correctly.
• 2. Pull the bottom Achilles strap around the
back of ankle and fix to the external side of the
brace without tightening too much (Fig. 2).
• 3. Tighten the brace by turning the BOA Lacing
System clockwise until the desired level of
support (Fig. 3).
• Note: If the ankle brace is too tight, open the
BOA system, loosen the laces, push the knob
down and re-tighten.
• 4. Pull the front cross-strap tightly through the
buckle and fix firmly onto front of brace (Fig. 4).

• a- To increase stability, you can extend the
front cross-strap by using the figure-8 strap.
Attach it to the cross-strap. The arrow on the
strap should be visible.
• b- Wrap the extended strap, centered around
your Achilles tendon.
• c- Bring the strap forward, crossing over your
forefoot.
• d- Run the strap under your foot.
• e- Fasten the strap across the front.
• If the figure-8 strap is too long, shorten it.
PHASE II – STABILIZATION (Early mobilization
and moderate stability)
Warnings:
• Flexible shells should be fitted by a qualified
healthcare professional.
• Do not heat flexible shells directly on the body.
• Ensure flexible shells are not too hot prior to
application.
• Do not heat flexible shells to temperatures
higher than 550°C.

6. Remove the brace and remove the lateral rigid
shells by opening the hook and loop closure of
the internal shell pockets at the top end of the
brace (Fig. 6).
Set a heat gun to 350°C.
Heat up the flexible shells for 20 seconds on
each side.

pockets and close the hook and loop closure
