4.1.2 ADJUST THE SADDLE HEIGHT
Note: Positioning the saddle at the right height is
important for safety, comfort, and effective pedaling.
The rider's leg length is used to determine the saddle's
position. During pedaling, your hips should stay level
while your legs shouldn't suffer from overextension. To
find the right saddle height, sit on the bike with one
pedal at its lowest point and place the ball of your foot
on the pedal. The saddle is at the right height if your
knee slightly bends in this position. Additionally, when
you place your heel on the pedal, your leg should be
nearly straight.
1. Open the clamp under the saddle. Pull the saddle
up or push it down to adjust the height.
Note: Check to make sure the seat post is fully
inserted into the frame and the head of the saddle is
parallel with the frame.
