Care of Blades
Blades become dull even from casual cutting. If you find yourself forcing the machine
•
forward to cut instead of just guiding it through the cut, chances are the blades are dull or
coated with wood pitch.
When cleaning gum and wood pitch from blade, detach the battery pack and remove the
•
blade. Remember, blades are designed to cut, so handle them carefully. Wear gloves and
wipe the blade with kerosene or similar solvent to remove the gum and pitch.
Unless you are experienced in sharpening blades, we recommend you do not try.
•
Lubricate the Blade
For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the shear/ shrub blades before and after
each use. If you will be using the shear/shrubber for an extended period, it is advisable to
lubricate the blade during use.
Remove the battery pack.
•
Lay the shear/shrubber on a flat surface. Apply light weight machine lubricant (not included)
•
along the edge of the top blade.
WARNING
18
Do not lubricate while the grass shear/shrubber is running.
