4.2 Installation Position
To install the camera mount, please check if your trailer is equipped with trailer camera
accommodations which can include pre-drilled holes for a bracket as well as a pre-wire
accommodation for 12-volt Power and Ground that can power the Wireless Camera.
The existing screw holes in the trailer can be used for mounting the camera bracket. Two
(2) additional screw holes may need to be created. Six (6) provided rivet nuts and
attaching screws must be used to mount the camera assembly.
Some trailers have trailer camera pre-wire that can provide 12-volt Power and Ground
connectivity to power the camera. It is recommended to use 24-gauge wire size for the
12-volt Power and Ground connection.
Ensure to connect the camera to a circuit with fused protection.
(Maximum fuse size = 10A)
Check your trailer's wiring for the following conditions:
Power and ground circuit shows voltage between 11 and 15 volts.
•
Gain an understanding of what condition the pre-wire is powered on (i.e., all the
•
time, when vehicle ignition is on, when vehicle running lights are on, etc.).
NOTICE: When this pre-wire is powered on, your camera will only charge during
this condition.
Camera antennas should be kept in vertical position relative to the ground surface for
optimal wireless connectivity. Install the camera as high as possible.
