The precision bore gauge is a mechanical two-point incremental measurement tool for measuring bores and their contour
variations. The bore gauge centres itself automatically.

5.1.
PRE-SETTING
i
When pre-setting, come very close to the nominal dimension to remain within the device's measurement range during sub-
sequent measurement.
1. Connect measuring pin (8) with setting rings (7) and measurement range extensions (6).
2. Secure measuring pin with union nut.

MAKING FINE ADJUSTMENTS

Optional internal precision bore gauge (not supplied with device) is an incremental measurement tool and requires a dimen-
sional reference for determining dimensions.
Dimension of the reference must correspond to the nominal dimension of the bore to be measured.
5.3.
SETTING RINGS

Maximum precision by setting/calibrating the optional internal precision bore gauge in a setting ring.
5.4.
ESU SETTING DEVICE

Available as an accessory.
Gauge blocks are required for dimensional reference.

1. Hold the mounted measuring device by the bracket handle and insert it into the bore to be measured.

Measuring pin (8) and centring (5) are in contact with the wall of the bore.

Return point on display is determined by oscillating the device (1).

Return point of dial indicator can be recognised by changing the direction of movement of the pointer. With digital
displays, it is the minimum value.
2. Read off measuring result.

Measurement completed.

Maintenance

Measuring devices are not waterproof or rustproof.
After working on the measuring device, check function.
Replace worn parts immediately.
