5.4. The packing gland is too tight.
5.5. Excessive flow rate during operation.
6.1. Air has entered through the suction port.
6.2. The electric motor turns in the wrong direction.
6.3. The check valve or foot valve have blocked in
a partially closed position.
6.4. Worn pump.
6.5. Sluice valve partially closed.
6.6. Pump operating at cavitation rate.
6.7. The strainer is clogged by foreign bodies.
6.8. Rotation speed too low.
7.1. Pump unprimed owing to insufficient head.
7.2. Pump unprimed owing to excessive flow rate.
7.3. The check valve or foot valve are blocked in a
closed position.
7.4. Closed sluice valve.
7.5. Pump excessively worn.
7.6. Worn transmission coupling owing to the high
number of work hours and/or too many starts/
hour and/or bad alignment.

casing.
9.1. Insufficient flow rate of the unit.
9.2. The automatic monitoring devices of the plant
or motor fail to enable the unit to stop.
10.1.The seal is no longer efficient.
Remedies
5.1. Regulate the internal combustion engine.
Make sure that the pump/electric motor combi-
nation has been correctly selected.
5.2. Send the unit to an authorized after-sales
service center.
5.3. Check the alignment as described in paragraph
5.3 "Mechanical connections".
5.4. Adjust the packing gland by working evenly on
both nuts in order to ensure a slight dripping
during operation.
5.5. Check and reduce if necessary, by means of
the sluice valve on the delivery pipe.
6.1. Increase the level of the liquid at the suction
port.
6.2. Invert two of the three phases.
6.3. Disassemble the valve from the pipe and check.
6.4. Send the pump to an authorized after-sales
service center.
6.5. Open the sluice valve.
6.6. Compare the pressure on the suction side with
the NPSH values given in the specific technical
documentation.
6.7. Remove the obstruction.
6.8. Regulate the internal combustion engine.
Make sure that the pump/electric motor
combination has been correctly selected.
7.1. See 6.1.
7.2. Make sure that the right product has been
selected.
Reduce the flow rate by means of the sluice
valve on the delivery duct.
7.3. See 6.3.
7.4. Regulate the sluice valve.
7.5. See 6.4.
7.6. Make sure that the elastic components are in a
good condition and replace them if necessary
(consult paragraph 6.3 "Maintenance").

8.3. See 6.4.
8.4. Check according to the specifications in
paragraph 5.3 "Mechanical connections".
8.5. See 6.6.
8.6. Check the maximum stress values given in the
"Flange stress" table in chapter 11 "Technical
data".
Connect the pump to the pipes by means of
compensation joints.
9.1. Make sure that the right unit has been chosen.
Also consult 6.3, 6.4 and 6.5.
