der to avoid unexpected start-up.
The product must only be installed, operated and serviced by
qualified personnel in an industrial environment.
Cleaning Instruction
Equipment should be wiped off with a damp/wetted cloth.
Only use water, no cleaners containing solvents should be
used.
Contact your Atlas Copco service technician for cleaning ad-
vice as per current recommendations and for your particular
tool.
Regular Cable Inspections
Regularly inspect the power cable and the tool cable. If the
cables show any sign of damage, replace them.

The components inside the product and controller are sensi-
tive to electrostatic discharge. To avoid future malfunction,
make sure that service and maintenance is carried out in an
ESD approved work environment. The figure below shows an
example of an appropriate service work station.
Safety instructions
Note: "spindle" or "torque spindle" can be used instead of
"power tool" or "tool".
Power supply and connection hazards
• WARNING - THIS POWER TOOL / SUPPLY UNIT
MUST BE EARTHED. Refer to installation instructions.
• Disconnect the power supply when not in use, before
handling the output drive or socket, adjusting or disman-
tling the tool.
• Disconnect the supply unit (or controller) from the mains
before servicing it.

• Only use the cord supplied with the controller to connect
to the mains, and the cord supplied with the tool to con-
nect to the controller. Do not modify the cords or use
them for other purposes. Use only genuine replacement
parts. Failure to follow these instructions may result in
electric shock.
Entanglement hazards
• Keep away from rotating drive. Choking, scalping and /
or lacerations can occur if loose clothing, gloves, jew-
ellery, neck ware and hair are not kept away from tool
and accessories.
• Check that all guards are securely in place before each
operation of the tool.
• Gloves can become entangled with the rotating drive,
causing severed or broken fingers.
• Rotating drive sockets and drive extensions can easily en-
tangle rubber-coated or metal-reinforced gloves.
• Do not wear loose-fitting gloves or gloves with cut or
frayed fingers.
• Never hold the drive, socket or drive extension.
Projectile hazards
• Always wear impact-resistant eye and face protection
when involved with or near the operation, repair or main-
tenance of the tool or changing accessories on the tool.
• Be sure all others in the area are wearing impact-resistant
eye and face protection. Even small projectiles can injure
eyes and cause blindness.
• Serious injury can result from over-torqued or under-
torqued fasteners, which can break, or loosen and sepa-
rate. Released assemblies can become projectiles. Assem-
blies requiring a specific torque must be checked using a
torque meter.
NOTE So-called "click" torque wrenches do not check
for potentially dangerous over-torqued conditions.
• Do not use hand sockets. Use only power or impact sock-
ets in good condition.
• Ensure that the workpiece is securely fixed.
Operating hazards
• Operators and maintenance personnel must be physically
able to handle the bulk, weight and power of hand-guided
fixtured tools. Be ready to counteract normal or sudden
movements, use both hands.
• Guard against electric shock. Avoid body contact with
earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes, radiators, other
electrical machinery). There is an increased risk of elec-
tric shock if your body is grounded.
• Immediately after performing adjustments or programme
changes, check for correct operation.
• When working with hand-guided fixtured tools, maintain
a balanced body position and secure footing.
Workplace hazards
• Slip/Trip/Fall is a major cause of serious injury or death.
Cluttered areas and benches invite injuries.
• Daily check hooks, shackles, chains and mounting points
used for suspending fixtured tools. Do not use if cracked,
worn or damaged.
