The user must read and follow the Instructions for Use sup-
plied for the Dräger X-am
and the sensor used
WARNING
!
Risk of injury and damage due to improper pressure range.
The gas-tightness of the OxyTest 2000 is not ensured at pres-
sures above 220 bar.
The OxyTest 2000 is designed for a pressure range up to a
maximum of 220 bar.
WARNING
!
Risk of injury due to erroneous measured values.
At temperatures below 0 °C, the
®
Dräger X-am
5000 requires approximately 30 minutes to
equalize to the ambient temperature. Correct measurement
with the
®
Dräger X-am
5000 is only possible after the 30 minutes
have elapsed.
3.1
Preparation
Check the connecting tube and gaskets for damage.
1. Check for external damage before using the connecting tube.
2. If the connecting tube is damaged, it must be replaced.
3. Check the gaskets on the adapter and on the G 3/4" connection for
damage.
4. If the gaskets are damaged, they must be replaced.
The gas being measured must flow through the sample gas dosing
device.

5. Allow gas to flow through the sample gas dosing device before fit-
ting the connecting tube.
6. Check with your finger whether or gas gas is noticeably flowing
from the opening.
This does not replace the annual inspection (see "Maintenance"
on page 19) which must be carried out in addition.
Additional notices on the use of the Dräger X-am
nection with the OxyTest 2000
®
The Dräger X-am
5000 devices used in the OxyTest 2000 are
equipped with a special oxygen sensor. The measuring results from
this sensor are affected by the ambient pressure (partial pressure de-
pendence). For example, this can result in measured value fluctua-
tions depending on the height above or below sea level at which the
measurements are carried out. To avoid these deviations, the following
steps must be carried out immediately before the measurement.
1. A visual inspection to ensure the perfect condition of the Dräger X-
®
am
5000 oxygen measuring device should be conducted before
use.
2. Switching on the device:
Hold down the »OK« button for approx. 3 seconds until the
»3...2...1« countdown shown on the display has elapsed. All dis-
play segments, the visual, the acoustic and the vibration alarm are
activated for a short time. The software version is displayed. The
device conducts a self check.
After the self check, the device goes into an error status. The mea-
sured value is not displayed. Only 2 lines are displayed. The
acoustic and visual alarms activate three times each. Acknowl-
edge this alarm with the »OK« button.
This error status is normal and is a result of the preset calibration
interval of 1 day for the use of the Dräger X-am
OxyTest 2000.
