Assembly
Adjusting the Driver (see figure A)
Before first assembly, adjust the length of the driver (1) to
your drill.
– Use a hacksaw to shorten the driver (1) such that dis-
tance a shown in the figure is 110 mm (4 5/16").
If the driver (1) is too short for your drill, use a commercially
available M8 hexagon screw of suitable length instead.
Fitting the Drill Bit Sharpener (see figure B)
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.
The drill bit sharpener must only be used if it is fitted
u
on the drill. It is not approved for sanding drill bits by
hand. This poses a risk of injury.
– If an auxiliary handle is screwed onto the spindle
collar (2) of your drill, you should remove this auxiliary
handle first.

– Clamp the driver (1) into the drill chuck of your drill.
To do this, please refer to the operating instructions for
your drill.
– Forcefully press the drill bit sharpener against the drill
chuck of the drill and simultaneously tighten the clamping
screw (3).
The clamping screw must be closed above the spindle
collar (2) of the drill, not above the drill chuck.
Operation
Working Advice
Sanding the Drill Bit (see figure C)
– First, roughly sand any heavily damaged drill bits against
a sanding block.
– If you can control the speed of your drill, adjust the speed
to 2000 to 3000 min
For an impact drill, set the operating mode to "Drilling
without impact".
– Hold the switched-on drill with the mounted drill bit
sharpener as is shown in the figure.
Ensure that the ventilation slots of the drill are clear.
– To sand the first cutting edge of the drill bit:
Guide the drill bit into the smallest drilled hole in the drill
bit sharpener that fits. Rotate the drill bit while applying
light pressure so that it is loose and quickly rotate it back

Checking and Corrections (see figure D)
The cutting edges S of the drill bit must of the equal length.
– If they are not, align the shorter cutting edge with the in-
ner marking of the relevant drilled hole of the drill bit
sharpener.
– Insert the drill bit in this position and rotate it back and
forth from stop to stop about three times.
– Check the result and repeat the process if necessary.
Maintenance and Service
Maintenance
Readjusting the Sanding Disc (see figure E)

just the sanding disc (7).
To do this, you must remove the drill bit sharpener.
– Loosen the outer fastening screws (4) and then the inner
fastening screw (5).
– Remove the spacer (6).
