4.2.3.3 Seam laying without spraying:
Fully close the spray air controller (blue setting screw), place the nozzle
on the surface at an angle and pull evenly.
Never close the nozzle by placing it flat.
In this case, the medium can enter the gun through the inner and
outer nozzle and damage it.
4.3 Processing of non-sprayable sealing masses:
4.3.1 Preparation of the cartridge
Media exclusively suitable for seam laying should be processed with single nozzles as intended. These are included in the cartridge
scope of supply.
The cartridge is to be prepared in line with the manufacturer's instructions depending on the cartridge type and the material to be
processed:
Use undamaged cartridges only!
Use clean and unused nozzles only!
Use fresh material only!
The instructions of the cartridge manufacturer concerning processing and storing must be observed.
Procedure:
- Pierce the base cover of aluminium cartridges with a suitable tool and remove the anti-condensation material found inside.
- Cut-off the cartridge tip or pierce with a suitable tool
- Screw a processing nozzle (included in the cartridge delivery) onto the cartridge.
- Cut-off the tip of the nozzle for the required seam width.
- Preheat the cartridge according to the manufacturer's instructions
- Insert the cartridge in the cartridge pipe. The telescopic piston must be pressed back with the cartridge into the start position.
- Screw the black cartridge nut tightly onto the cartridge pipe.
The thread on the nut and on the cartridge pipe must be free of dirt. Check the tight fit of the cartridge nut before
each application.
4.3.2 Compressed air connection:
Control of the compressed air supply takes place with the help of setting screws on the handle as described in chapter 4.2.2.
Fully close the spray air supply (blue setting screw). The working speed can be con-trolled depending on the material toughness
with the red setting screw.
4.3.3 Processing:
Place the nozzle at an angle on the surface and press the discharge. The infor-mation described in chapter 4.2.3 should be
considered.
5. What to do if...
... the medium is not sprayed although the spray air controller is fully opened?
- The two-part nozzle is not correctly mounted - remount the cartridge nut as described in chapter 4.2.1 and replace the noz-zle if
necessary
- The spray air channel in the cartridge pipe is dirty/blocked - clean and replace the pipe if necessary
... the pressing speed is too low?
- The compressed air valve (red setting screw) is set incorrectly - Adjust setting
- The input pressure is too low -> check the mains pressure
- The screen in the compressed air connection is blocked -> clean
- The medium is not suitable for processing with the maximum pressure (e.g. high viscosity medium, 2 component cartridges) - pre
heat the cartridge according to the manufacturer's instructions if neces-sary
... air escapes out of the gun while processing?
– A leak means that the working pressure in the gun drops - Check the seal on the compressed air connection and tighten the plug
if nec-essary - Service the gun
