DESCRIPTION
The filters covered by this notice are anti-all germ filters for taps and/or showers. They are commonly called
"BIOFIL tap filters" for microfiltration cartridges and " BIOFIL screw-on shower filters" for shower heads fitted with
a microfiltration cartridge.
They are installed at the end of the drinking water network (tap or shower) and serve as physical barriers in the event
of a bacterial alert (Legionella pneumophila, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and other Gram-negative bacilli, non-tuberculous
Mycobacteria, fungi, protozoa and other particles from the water distribution network – absolute filtration grade of 0.2 µm) for an
indicative duration of 2, 3 or 4 months. These filters are for single use only.
They are intended to be installed in hospitals or medical care facilities (retirement homes, specialised centres), as well as in
collective facilities such as leisure or sports centres, hotels, etc.

INSTALLATION
Warnings:
Wash and disinfect your hands before installing the filter to limit the risk of contamination or back contamination.
Check that the single packaging bag is not punctured or torn and that the filter is not damaged.
If necessary, dispose of the filter as its safety and performance are no longer guaranteed.
Check that the expiry date has not passed. If necessary, discard the filter because its safety and performance are no longer
guaranteed.
Preliminary preparation of the taps:
• The screw-on shower filter: it is screwed quickly clockwise and until the seal is crushed on all shower hoses complying
with standard NF EN 1113.
The length of the hose must be adapted to avoid any contact between the shower filter and the ground. The gasket provided
must be installed to ensure sealing and prevent possible leaks. Each time the shower head is changed, it should be replaced.
• The tap filter: it must be fitted using the quick connectors recommended by DELABIE. The quick connectors allow to connect and
disconnect the filter to the tap easily.
Visit the website or contact us for a list of available fittings.
Laying:
1.
Open the tap to purge before installation to avoid early clogging.
2.
Close or cut off the water supply to an electronic tap.
3.
In the case of first installation:
- Tap filter: place an adapter fitting.
- Screw-on shower filter: remove the original shower head.
4.
If replacing a worn filter: remove the filter.
5.
Wash and disinfect your hands.
6.
Partially open the unit packaging.
7.
While keeping the filter in the bag to prevent contamination of the water outlet, screw the spray filter to the end
of the hose or clip the cartridge filter to the fitting adapter.
8.
Partially open the unit packaging.
9.
Turn the water on for a few seconds to check that the filter and fittings remain perfectly sealed.
10.
In case of leakage, repeat the procedure. Do not re-use a filter that has been connected.
11.
Note the commissioning and the theoretical decommissioning date (commissioning date + theoretical duration of use)
on the filter and on the traceability label.
Removal:
1.
Close the water supply.
2.
Release the used shower head filter by unscrewing it from the end of the hose or unclip the shower head filter
or tap filter from the adapter fitting.
3.
Dispose of the filter as normal/household waste. Never re-use a filter that has been connected. As the filter cannot be
dismantled, the manufacturer cannot guarantee that the fibres are always in good condition.
Installation and use in a dirty or uncontrolled environment can be a source of back contamination. Discard and replace
any filter that appears visually soiled or contaminated.
