Product usage
Frozen food:
Should ice or water be immersed in the hot oil, this will lead to splashing and significant
bubbling, which will substantially increase the volume of the oil.
For these reasons, we kindly ask you to:
• Reduce the quantity of frozen products in the basket.
• Remove any ice crystals coating the food.
• Slowly immerse frozen food in the frying oil.
• Never leave a frozen food-filled basket hovering above insufficiently heated oil. This
leads to splashing.
Recommendations:
We recommend using oil instead of solid fat.
Do not mix different types or grades of oil.
Do not add new oil to pre-used oil.
Replace the oil as soon as it starts to deteriorate (darker colour, burnt smell or rancid taste).
Use kitchen roll to pat the food dry BEFORE immersing it in the oil, in order to remove
any juices and liquids, and AFTER cooking to remove excess grease.
Do not season food (with salt and pepper, spices, etc.) before cooking or above the frying oil.
However, should you decide to use solid fat (beef fat, a block of vegetable fat, etc.):
CAUTION! Never place the block of fat directly on the heating element or in the
basket.
Firstly, melt the blocks of fat in a saucepan over a low heat. Once the fat has melted, carefully
pour it into the fryer before turning it on, in order to ensure that it settles between the MIN
(minimum) and MAX (maximum) marks.
When you've finished cooking, the fat can be left to solidify in the fryer.
For the following uses: Before switching on the unit and to prevent the fat from splashing,
gently poke holes all the way through the fat with a fork or a wooden spoon handle, whilst
taking care not to damage the heating element. Next, melt the fat at a low temperature until
the heating element is completely visible. You can then set the fryer to the desired temperature.
