9.3. Put the half mask on
(see Fig. 3.1 and 3.3)
Health risk from poisoning
If the half mask does not fit tightly to your face, pollutants can penetrate
from the outside.
→ Tighten both ends of the head straps until the half mask fits tightly to
your face.
→ Only start to work when the half mask fits tightly with inserted breath-
ing filter.
■ Pull the head fixation loops to the end of the head straps.
■ Pull the lower straps right through until the head fixation loops fit firmly
on the mask cap.
■ Pull the lower straps over your head.
■ Set the half mask over your mouth and nose.
■ Position the head fixation at the back of your head and fit it along the
top of your ears.
■ Tighten both ends of the head straps until the half mask fits tightly to
your face.
■ Evenly balance out the head straps and lower straps. If necessary,
readjust the half mask so that it fits comfortably and firmly to your face.
9.4. Leak test before use
(see Fig. 4.1 and 4.2)
Vacuum test
■ Seal off both breathing filters with your hands and breathe in until you
have generated a vacuum.
■ Hold your breath briefly. The vacuum must be maintained.
■ If the vacuum is compensated, the half mask needs to be adjusted.
Adjust the half mask
■ Tighten both ends of the head straps until the half mask fits tightly to
your face.
Overpressure test
■ Seal the exhaling valve with one hand and breath out firmly.
■ The half mask may not be lifted from your face.
