• Select proper grit size of the abrasive paper for the planned
work.
• In order to soften the paper, rub its smooth side against an edge,
for instance of a tabletop edge.
• Loosen abrasive paper clamps (5) (fig. B).
• Fix abrasive paper on the sander backing pad (4).
• Make sure that the holes on abrasive paper and sander backing
pad (4) fully match.
• Bend both ends of abrasive paper on the edges of sander
backing pad.
• Tighten the abrasive paper clamping levers (5).
• Make sure that abrasive paper is installed properly.
Abrasive paper must firmly adhere to the sander backing pad.
No slack is allowed. If abrasive paper stretches during
sanding, remove the slack, which will significantly prolong the
lifetime of the abrasive paper.
DUST EXTRACTION
Finishing sander features a dust bag for collecting dust, to
maintain the processed surface clean.
• Slide the dust bag mounting (3) onto the dust discharge outlet (2)
and secure by turning it right (fig. C).
• Check whether the dust bag is firmly fixed on the dust discharge
outlet by pulling it gently (the dust bag is sealed with a rubber O-
ring seal).
The dust bag is placed in plastic dust bag housing (3). To empty the
dust bag, slide back rear part of the plastic housing (fig. D), remove
the dust bag from its mounting and remove its content. Assemble
the dust bag in reverse order to its disassembly.
OPERATION / SETTINGS
SWITCHING ON / SWITCHING OFF
The mains voltage must match the voltage on the rating plate
of the sander.
Switching on – turn the switch button (1) to position I (fig. E)
Switching off – turn the switch button (1) to position 0.
USING THE FINISHING SANDER
• The whole sanding area of the sander backing pad must rest on
the processed surface.
• Apply moderate pressure on the sander, move it on the
processed material using rotary movements in transverse or
longitudinal direction.
• Use coarse-grained abrasive paper for coarse processing and
fine-grained abrasive paper for finishing works. Best method of
selection of abrasive paper is by trial and error.
• When finishing polishing, reduce pressure and lift the sander
above the processed surface and only then switch the sander off.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Prior to commencing any installation, regulation, repair or
maintenance work always unplug the power cord of the sander
from power supply socket.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• It is recommended to clean the sander immediately after each
use.
• Do not clean the device with water or other liquids.
• The device should be cleaned with a paintbrush or with
compressed air at low pressure. Do not use any cleaning agents or
solvents, as they may damage the parts made of plastic.
• Clean ventilation slots in the motor housing on regular basis to
prevent overheating of the device.
• In case of excessive commutator sparking have the technical
condition of carbon brushes of the motor checked.
• The device must always be stored in a dry place out of reach of
children.
REPLACEMENT / CHANGE OF SANDER BACKING PAD
Depending on the need and the type of work performed an
appropriate backing must be used. Types of backing pads provided
together with the sander are shown in figure F.
• Remove screws securing the backing pad (4) (figure G).
• Remove and replace the backing pad.
• Tighten the screws.
Damaged sander backing pad must be replaced immediately.
REPLACING CARBON BRUSHES
Worn out (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or cracked motor carbon
brushes must be replace immediately. Always replace both
brushes at a time.
Replacement of carbon brushes may only be done by a
qualified person and with use of genuine parts.
Any faults should be repaired by a service workshop authorized by
the manufacturer.
