1. The valve has been tested with ISO32 mineral oil. If this hydraulic fluid is not compatible with
the hydraulic fluid used in your system, ensure that the valve has been fully flushed prior to
being assembled into the hydraulic circuit.
2. All hydraulic connections should be made by suitable qualified personnel.
3. It is recommended that a 25 micron filter is installed in the hydraulic circuit prior to the valve.
4. The four ports are arranged as follows; P (input), A & B (flow ports), & T (return). See pages
6 & 7 of this document.
5. The return port (T) has a maximum pressure of 100 bar (1450 psi). This is critical.
6. If a side ported valve is connected using flexible hose, it is recommended that the hose
is 'strain relieved' (clamped). For installation detail see dimensions on pages 6 & 7 of this
document.
7. All NPTF threads are to ANSI B1.20.3 -1976 Class 1. As stated in the standard it is
recommended that "sealing is accomplished by the means of a sealant applied to the
thread". NPT fittings may also be used to connect to NPTF ports (also with a sealant applied
to the thread).
8. The side ported valve type has two additional mounting options.
a. Standard mount - bolt to valve base with four off 5/16"-18 UNC bolts (not supplied).
Tighten to 23 Nm (17 ftlb). See the Standard/Panel mount template below.
b. Panel mount - As well as the available standard mounting holes, the valve can be
assembled on to a panel with the four off 5/16"-18 UNC Hex pillar fasteners & nuts
(provided). Use a 1/2" socket to tighten the nuts Tighten to 23 Nm (17 ftlb). See the
Standard/Panel mount template below.
The handle cap assembly may need to be removed before the valve can be assembled
to a panel (see page 9 of this document).
