Structure of solar panels
The construction of the flat photovoltaic module consists of a laminated
assembly of solar cells encapsulated in an insulating material with a rigid glass
surface and an insulated substrate. The laminate assembly is supported by an
aluminum frame that is also used to mount the module.

Photovoltaic modules can produce current and voltage
if exposed to light of any intensity. The electric current
increases as the light intensity increases. DC voltage of 30V
or higher is potentially lethal. Connecting live circuits of a
photovoltaic system that operates under light can cause a
fatal electric shock.
