Recharging the batteries/power supply
When the batteries have discharged or whenever you want to restore
full autonomy of the vacuum unit, you can recharge the batteries
using the power supply (7). Connect the power supply to the mains
socket and then plug it into the vacuum unit. Charging normally takes
maximum 1.5-2 hours depending on whether or not you start with
completely flat batteries. If the vacuum unit batteries are low and you
want to continue drainage by suction, you can power the device by
keeping it connected to the drainage system, therefore, during its
normal use.
To disconnect the device from the power, disconnect the power
supply.
Replacing the filter/valve unit
The vacuum unit protection filter/valve (8) must be replaced if
necessary (e.g. prolonged use, fluids in the filter/valve). These
accessories are supplied sterile and separate from the vacuum unit
(see the catalogue or call a Redax representative). For replacement,
disconnect the filter/valve in use and dispose of it and then connect a
new filter/valve.
The above mentioned operations must be carried out with the
vacuum unit off.
NOTE :
The filtering membrane has a limited life and it is
therefore advisable to replace it whenever you notice
liquid and/or condensate on it, and in any case at least
once a week.
The unit has been designed to prevent liquids from
penetrating it. However, if you have any doubts about
liquid having penetrated the unit, send it to Technical
Service.
Operation by gravity
You can at any time suspend suction simply by turning off the vacuum
unit using the dedicated button. At that point, drainage can continue
by gravity without needing to disconnect the vacuum unit as it is
equipped with an automatic positive pressure release valve which
allows continuing drainage. It is however advisable to disconnect the
pipette of the filter/valve in order to reduce pressure drops in air
evacuation; the pipette can easily be housed on the pin (6).
At your discretion, suction can be restored at any time by turning the
vacuum unit on again.
Operation at high suction
The vacuum unit normally operates in a range of suction values
between -10 and -30 cmH O (-1 to -3.0 KPa), universally recognized

as "safety range" for thoracic applications. To increase suction, hold
down the increase button for at least three seconds until the
corresponding warning light comes on (see the relative section)
accompanied by a short beep. At this point, the safety lock is released
and you can increase the suction value up to a maximum of -60
cmH O (-6 Kpa).

Keypad lock
After about 10 seconds of inactivity, the keypad will automatically be
locked to prevent accidental and involuntary activation. To unlock
the keypad, press the I/O button for 3 seconds until the padlock
symbol (16) is shown on the display.
Turning off the device
To turn off the device, press and hold down the I/O button (15) for a
few seconds until the display turns off.
WARNING: if the device is connected to the patient, before turning it
off, make sure that it has expressly been requested that
the patient be taken off drainage with a portable suction
system.
WARNING LIGHTS AND ACOUSTIC ALARMS
The vacuum unit has 2 warning lights (see Fig. 1): the first (13) is
located above the I/O button and the second is integrated in the
display (i.e. backlit display). The unit also provides other information
via the display.
Listed below are the various cases when one or more warning lights
and/or symbols are shown.
Power on: the warning light (13) is GREEN and permanently on.
Display:
in normal operating conditions, back-lighting is off.
Pressing the I/O button (15), white back-lighting comes
on, which makes it easier to read the display even in
poor light conditions. In the event of an alarm (see
below), the display lights up orange and flashes
according to what is described below.
Operation at high suction:
beyond -30 cmH O, the warning light

(13) is YELLOW and permanently on.
Connection to power supply: the electric plug symbol (10) is
shown on the display.
Low battery:
the display flashes orange twice
every 30 seconds, the warning light
(13) is YELLOW and flashes and the
battery symbol (11) flashes on the
display. Each flash of the display is
accompanied by a corresponding
acoustic signal.
Circuit leak/suction fault/pump running continuously for more
than 2 minutes: the warning light (13) is YELLOW and flashes, the
display flashes continuously, the pump continues
running at maximum speed. This condition requires
particular attention by the medical staff. It is
advisable to promptly intervene if you notice this
condition: if the pump inside the device remains
active for a long period of time (2 hours), the
temperature of the outer casing of the unit may
exceed 41°C in some well localized areas (right-hand
side).

icons flash.
Keypad lock:
when the keypad is locked, the padlock symbol (16)
is shown on the display.
DO NOT DISCARD warning:
when the unit is turned off, the warning
light (13) flashes, the display flashes orange, the DO
NOT DISCARD symbol is shown on the display and
an acoustic signal is emitted at the same time.
ACOUSTIC ALARM DISABLE: the acoustic alarms can be disabled by
simultaneously pressing the pressure regulating
buttons until the crossed out speaker symbol
appears on the display.
WHAT TO DO IF...
-
Liquid has penetrated the unit:
-
If any liquid has penetrated the unit, immediately suspend use and
send it to Redax Technical Service.
-
The warning light (13) comes on and/or the display flashes
YELLOW
Check the nature of the fault referring to the information provided on
the display.
In particular:
•
If the battery symbol (11) flashes, it means that the batteries
are running low and you need to recharge them as soon as
possible otherwise the unit will automatically turn off. Connect
the device to the mains as soon as possible using the power
supply provided.
•
If the electric plug symbol (10) flashes, it means that the power
supply is connected but the battery is not properly being
charged. Check the connection and functioning of the power
supply and/or the condition of the batteries and replace them if
necessary (in this case, contact Redax Technical Service).
-
The unit is accidentally dropped: it might have been damaged,
therefore, suspend use and send the unit to Redax Technical
Service.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The unit does not require any routine maintenance by the user. Any
operation must be carried out by authorized Redax technical staff. For
cleaning and disinfection of the unit and its accessories, use products
normally used in hospitals provided they are colourless, and follow the
instructions below:
1. Moisten a cloth or gauze with a small amount of product.

Displej:
Za normálnych prevádzkových podmienok je
podsvietenie vypnuté. Stlaèením tlaèidla I / O (15) sa
rozsvieti biele podsvietenie, ktoré u¾ahèuje èítanie
displeja aj pri nepriaznivých svetelných podmienkach.
V prípade alarmu (pozri nižšie) sa displej rozsvieti na
oranžovo a bliká pod¾a nižšie uvedeného.
Prevádzka pri vysokej sukcii: Nad -30 cmH2O je výstražné svetlo
(13) ŽLTÉ a permanentne zapnuté.
Pripojenie na napájanie zo siete: Na displeji sa zobrazí symbol
elektrickej zástrèky (10).
Nízka úroveò nabitia batérie: Displej dvakrát oranžovo bliká
každých 30 sekúnd, výstražné svetlo (13) je ŽLTÉ a bliká a na displeji
bliká symbol batérie (11). Každý bliknutie displeja je sprevádzané
zodpovedajúcim akustickým signálom.
Výpadok okruhu / porucha odsávania / pumpa beží nepretržite
dlhšie ako 2 minúty: Výstražné svetlo (13) je ŽLTÉ a bliká, displej
nepretržite bliká, pumpa pokraèuje v èinnosti pri maximálnej
rýchlosti. Tento stav si vyžaduje osobitnú pozornos zdravotníckeho
personálu. Ak si všimnete tento stav, odporúèa sa okamžite
zasiahnu . Ak èerpadlo vnútri zariadenia zostane aktívne dlhší èas (2
hodiny), teplota vonkajšieho krytu jednotky môže v niektorých
oblastiach (na pravej strane)prekroèi 41° C.

Chyba poèas nabíjania / napájania zo siete: Výstražné svetlo (13)

Zámok klávesnice: Keï sú tlaèidlá zablokované, na displeji sa
zobrazí symbol visiaceho zámku (16).
UPOZORNENIE NEVYHADZOVA : Keï je jednotka vypnutá,
výstražné svetlo (13) bliká, displej bliká na oranžovo, na displeji sa
zobrazí symbol NEVYHADZOVA
a súèasne sa ozve akustický
signál.
VYPNUTIE AKUSTICKÉHO ALARMU: Akustický alarm možno
vypnú súèasným stlaèením tlaèidiel regulácie tlaku, až kým sa na
displeji nezobrazí symbol preèiarknutého reproduktora.

Ak do jednotky prenikla akáko¾vek kvapalina, okamžite ju
prestaòte používa a pošlite ju technickému servisu spoloènosti
Redax.

Výstražné svetlo (13) sa rozsvieti a / alebo displej bliká na
ŽLTO:
Preverte charakter poruchy pod¾a informácií na displeji.
Najmä
•
Ak symbol batérie (11) bliká, znamená to, že batérie sú
vybité a je potrebné ich èo najskôr nabi , inak sa
zariadenie automaticky vypne. Prístroj èo najskôr pripojte
k elektrickej sieti pomocou dodávaného napájacieho
zdroja.
•
Ak bliká symbol elektrickej zástrèky (10), znamená to, že
je pripojený napájací zdroj, ale batéria sa správne
nenabíja. Skontrolujte pripojenie a funkciu napájania a /
alebo stav batérií a v prípade potreby ich vymeòte (v
tomto prípade sa obrá te na technický servis Redax).

Zariadenie náhodou spadlo: mohlo dôjs k jeho poškodeniu,
preto ho odstavte a zariadenie odošlite na technický servis
spoloènosti Redax.
ÈISTENIE A ÚDRŽBA
Zariadenie nevyžaduje žiadnu rutinnú údržbu užívate¾om. Všetky
úkony musia by vykonané autorizovaným technickým personálom
Redax. Na èistenie a dezinfekciu jednotky a jej príslušenstva
používajte produkty, ktoré sa bežne používajú v nemocniciach a sú
bezfarebné. Postupujte pod¾a pokynov uvedených nižšie:
1.
Navlhèite handrièku alebo gázu malým množstvom èistiacej
látky.
2.
Utrite všetky èasti krytu zariadenia.
Odporúèa sa používa bezfarebné dezinfekèné prostriedky,
roztoky s nízkym obsahom chlóru, metylalkohol a roztoky s
neutrálnym pH.
Varovanie:
-
Nepoužívajte Betadine alebo iné dezinfekèné a / alebo
detergentné roztoky, ktoré obsahujú farbivá, aby sa
zabránilo poškodeniu krytu alebo iných èastí zariadenia a
jeho príslušenstva.
-
Nepoužívajte žiadne iné kyslé alebo zásadité roztoky ako
tie, ktoré sú odporúèané, aby ste zabránili poškodeniu
odkrytých èastí jednotky a jej príslušenstva.
-
Vždy nanášajte èistiaci a dezinfekèný roztok handrièkou
alebo gázou.
NIKDY NEPOUŽÍVAJTE ÈISTIACU LÁTKU PRIAMO NA
JEDNOTKU A JEHO PRÍSLUŠENSTVO.
LIKVIDÁCIA
Okrem základných materiálov krytu a ostatných podporných èastí
obsahuje jednotka elektronické komponenty a nabíjate¾né batérie. Z
tohto dôvodu musí by zariadenie zlikvidované v súlade s platnými
predpismi týkajúcimi sa likvidácie elektronického odpadu. Batérie smú
vymieòa alebo odstraòova len pracovníci spoloènosti REDAX èi
špecialisti autorizovaní spoloènos ou REDAX.

Drentech® Mobile Redline je predávané v súlade s predpismi WEEE
(Odpadové elektrické a elektronické zariadenia).
Zariadenie je klasifikované ako APLIKOVANÁ ÈAS TYPU B v súlade
