9. Cleaning the Bloom Lab

Caution: Please use protective equipment, such as
gloves, when cleaning the surfaces of the Bloom Lab to
avoid contamination.
Thoroughly wipe all surfaces of the Bloom Lab after every
use using a disinfection cleaning wipe, Braun Softa Cloth
CHX 2% (Ref.: 19581) or similar. Check gaps for stains
and clean thoroughly when needed.

10. Maintenance

10.1. Updating a Bloom Lab

The Bloom App informs you about any existing updates
and guides you through installation. The installation can
only be done by the paired administrator device of the
Bloom Lab using a Bluetooth connection.

10.2. Setting up an administrator for a Bloom Lab

The first Bloom App connected with the Bloom Lab is
defined as the administrator device, allowing it to update
your Bloom Lab. This device is also allowed to rename
the Bloom Lab to give it a unique identifier.

10.3. Changing the administrator of a Bloom Lab

To reset the Bloom Lab, please press the reset button on
the bottom of the Bloom Lab for more than 5 seconds
(Visual N°10).

After resetting the device, the first Bloom App to be
connected to it is defined as the administrator device.

11. Storage and transport

In order to avoid hazardous situations, the Bloom Lab
should be stored with care at all times, this includes:
• The recommended storage temperature of the Bloom
4-3-6-2 Bloom Lab IFU, 09.04.2020, V1.0
Lab is between -20°C and +60°C. Please store
the Bloom Lab in a dry place, away from direct or
excessive heat. Make sure to store the Bloom Lab in an
environment with humidity between 30 and 85%.
• The Bloom Lab should not be stored outside: it is
intended for indoor use only.
• The Bloom Lab should not be stored in: brightly sunlit,
moist, dirty, dusty, physically unstable, compressed,
or humid areas, or areas that experience rapid
temperature changes, areas that have strong magnetic
fields (e.g. created by multiple mobile phones,
batteries, magnets, high voltage power transmitters,
radioactive materials, microwaves, TVs), or areas that
experience strong power surges.

12. Disposal

Dispose of the Bloom Lab in accordance with your na-
tional regulations regarding electronic waste. Please con-
tact your local authority to determine the proper method
of disposal of potentially biohazardous parts.
Before disposal or transportation the unit shall be cleaned
and disinfected. Use Braun Softa Cloth CHX 2% (Ref:
19581) or similar.
Do not dispose the Bloom Lab as unsorted municipal
waste. Every person should reuse, recycle and recover
electronic waste responsibly to avoid hazardous substanc-
es affecting health and the environment.

13. LED indications and error handling

The Bloom Lab performs a self test during each start-up
of the device. Additional internal tests are performed dur-
ing each measurement to check for the correct function
of the device. The proper function of the Bloom Lab is
indicated via the LED indicator at the front of the device.
See section 13.1. for more information. In case of mal-
function, the user is informed by the Bloom App and the
LED indicator (Visual N°11).
