2.2 Lock
The elbow joint of the DynamicArm is released and locked by the control signal generated by you, or auto-
matically in dependence of the situation of operation and the load applied.
CAUTION
Risk of injury. If a load is too high, the lock can slip through to prevent damage to the mechanical
system.

2.3 Mechanical release

When the DynamicArm is turned off or if the battery is depleted,
the elbow can be manually released and re-locked by slightly
pulling the release cable. In this way, the forearm can be brought
into the desired position. Mechanical release can also take place
under load. Please always observe the safety instructions on the
preceding pages as well as the instructions contained in the fol-
lowing section.
2.4 Adjustment of compensation momentum
For safety reasons first turn the DynamicArm off (see section 2.1)
and lock the elbow joint (see section 2.3). The amount of compen-
sation can be adjusted with a „finger wheel" and adapted to the
weight of different clothing. Your prosthetist will show you, how
the forearm will remain flexed if adjusted correctly. Adjustments
are easier to make when the forearm is flexed!
CAUTION
Sudden flexion of the DynamicArm. When the arm is extended the lock is released. Sudden flexion
of the DynamicArm can occur during taking on, taking off or storage, resulting in injury.
Always keep the elbow joint of the prosthesis fully flexed when putting it on or taking it off, and when not in
use.
CAUTION
Sudden flexion of the DynamicArm. Especially if the
compensation is set high, and the lock of the elbow joint is
released while the arm is in a horizontally or vertically lifted
position, the DynamicArm can flex suddenly. A sudden flex-
ion of either the forearm or humeral section may also occur
while working on the prosthesis when it is taken off. This
may result in injury!
2.5 Free swing
Free swing is controlled by the integrated Automatic Forearm Balance (AFB ). The electronically activated
and mechanically controlled free swing of the forearm imitates the natural movement of the upper extremity
during walking. Once full extension has been reached, the forearm is automatically uncoupled from the
drive, allowing it to swing freely and resulting in a quite natural movement of the forearm.
