NOTE!
Do not pack the coffee too tightly.
Do not exceed the 4 cup level marked inside
the filter. This could block the appliance or
make it overflow.
4. To fit the filter holder, move the handle to the
left, raise the filter holder into the percolator
head and turn it towards the right as far as
possible. If the handle of the filter holder is
not centred when it is in place, do not
operate the appliance. Remove the filter
holder and fit it again as described above
(figure 6)
. Following this procedure will
prevent the filter holder from coming loose
due to the pressure during the infusion
cycle.
5. Unscrew the boiler cap by turning it anti-
(figure 2)
clockwise
6. Fill the boiler with cold water using the
graduated glass jug
As a guideline:
An Italian cup (small cup for strong coffee) = 25
to 50 ml
A standard cup (for weaker coffee) = 75 to 100 ml
You can make up to 4 Italian cups or 2 standard
cups at once, without adding water to the
boiler.
NOTE
Do not fill the boiler if the appliance is
operating.
Do not add more than 300 ml of water into the
boiler.
Use the espresso jug to control the quantity of
water to be poured.
The glass jug is graduated for 2 or 4 cups. To
froth the milk of the cappuccino, add the
quantity of water equal to the steam level
marked on the jug.
The maximum capacity is equal to lower part
of the metal ring of the glass jug, which is to
say 4 cups of espresso plus the water required
to make the steam for the froth of the
cappuccino.
TIP
It is very important to add the correct quantity
of water required to the boiler.
The appliance will empty the entire content of
the boiler.
.
(figure 3)
.
NOTE
Do not fill the jug above the lower level of the
metal ring!
7. Close the boiler cap by turning it clockwise
(figure 4)
.
8. Place the jug under the filter holder and
ensure that the slot in the lid of the jug is
positioned directly underneath the outlet of
(figure 7)
the filter holder
NOTE
Ensure that the drip tray grill is fitted.
9. Turn the function selector to the
(coffee). The LED indicator will light up
(figure 9)
. It takes approximately 2
minutes for the water to heat up sufficiently.
The water is then forced through the coffee,
to the glass jug.
10. Wait until all of the water in the boiler has
been used. Switch off the appliance by
turning the function selector to the "0"
position (Off).
11. Do not unscrew the boiler cap when the
appliance is operating. Wait until the end of
the cycle and until all of the water and
steam have been used (refer to the section
"WARNING – PRESSURE").
NOTE
Remove the filter holder carefully as all the
metal parts may be hot.
Once the appliance has been switched off, we
recommend waiting for around 2 minutes
before removing the filter holder.
To remove the filter holder, turn it towards the
left until it can be detached from the
appliance.

STEAM FUNCTION

It is said that the name of cappuccino
originates from the colour of the robes worn by
the Capuchin monks who were very partial to
this tasty drink served with the dessert.
Cappuccino is traditionally made with 1/3
espresso, 1/3 hot milk and 1/3 frothed milk and
may be flavoured to individual tastes with
cinnamon, sugar, chocolate shavings or even
alcohol. Its versatility makes it the choice of
gourmets all over the world.
