Faults
The pump is not functioning
The pump operates but does not
discharge any fluid
The pump discharges irregularly

No special maintenance required during operation.
ƒ
Pumps that are not being used during periods of frost should be drained to avoid
damage.
Close the gate valves, fully open the drainage and filler screws (Fig. 1 , pos. 3 and 4)
and empty the pump.
CAUTION
Risk of damaging the pump
Observe the tightening torques of the filler screw and drain plug (Fig. 3a
[4-5]).
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
Danger from electrical current must be eliminated. Ensure that the pump's power
supply is switched off and secured against unauthorised reactivation before per-
forming any work on the electric system.
WARNING
Risk of burns
In case of high water temperatures and high system pressures, close the guard
valves upstream and downstream of the pump. First, allow pump to cool down.
WARNING
Risk of injury
Depending on the operating conditions of the pump or the installation (the temper-
ature of the discharged liquid and the volume flow), the pump assembly including
the motor may become extremely hot. There is a real risk of burns when coming into
contact with the pump.
Causes
No electrical power supply
The motor protection device has cut off the
power
Wrong direction of rotation
The piping or parts of the pump are obstructed
by foreign matter
Presence of air in the suction pipe
Suction pipe too narrow
The pressure at the pump inlet is insufficient
The suction pipe has a smaller diameter than
that of the pump
The strainer and the suction pipe are partially
blocked
Incorrect choice of pump
Wrong direction of rotation
The flow rate is too low, the suction pipe is
blocked
The valve is not sufficiently open
Remedies
Check fuses, switches and wiring
Eliminate any motor overload
Swap 2 phases in the power supply
Check and clean the piping and the pump
Make the suction pipe air-tight
Install wider suction pipe
Review the installation conditions and recom-
mendations described in this manual
The suction pipe must have the same diameter
as the pump suction opening
Dismantle and clean them
Install more powerful pumps
For the three-phase current version, swap
2 phases in the power supply
Clean the suction filter and the suction pipe
Open the valve
