Installation Instructions – Axcent Vandal Shield and Wire Guard
INSTALLATION
The Vandal Shield or Wire Guard is an accessory to the
Axcent Large light fixture. Please follow the installation
instructions specific to the catalog part that you ordered.

ote:
If the fixture is mounted to a wall, then the fixture
will have to be removed from the wall to install the
Vandal Shield or Wire Guard. If the fixture is mounted
to a Pole, Slipfitter, or Trunnion type mounting, then
the Vandal Shield or Wire Guard can be installed
without removing the fixture from its mounting.

Tools required
#2 Phillips head screwdriver, torque wrench.
1.
(Wall Mount only) – Turn off power to the fixture.
2.
(Wall Mount only) – Remove fixture from wall by
loosening the (2) ¼-20 Phillips head screws on the
fixture (Figure 1).

(Wall Mount only) – Lift fixture from wall mounted
wedge plate.
4.
(Wall Mount only) – Hang fixture on the wire hanger
(wire hanger with red flag label) and then disconnect
power wires and remove fixture from wall.
5.
Install Vandal Shield or Wire Guard by opening or
expanding it slightly and positioning onto the fixture
(Figure 1 or Figure 2). For the Vandal Shield, install the
lens into the slots (Figure 1).

Install the 8-32 Phillips head screws through the
bracket or wire guard and into the housing (two screws
for Vandal Shield bracket and four screws for Wire
Guard). Tighten screws to 20 in-lbs.
7 .
(Wall Mount only) – Install fixture to wall per fixture
mounting instructions.
