For other accessories, please observe the enclosed special instructions for use. Use only materi-
als, accessories or spare parts which are approved by us.
A. SERVICE LIFE
The maximum service life with proper storage (see C.) and without use is 8 years from the date
of production (see sticker in the helmet). For safety reasons, ski/snowboard helmets should be
replaced three to five years after their first use, depending on how often they are used. The pro-
tective effect of a helmet is no longer fully guaranteed once it has been subjected to a hard blow
or impact. A helmet damaged in this way cannot effectively protect your head from injury. Even
if no damage is visible externally, the helmet must therefore be replaced. This also applies if the
helmet no longer fits properly. The helmet should also be replaced after expiry of the recommen-
ded service life, even without visible damage.
CHECK YOUR HELMET FOR VISIBLE DEFECTS REGULARLY! Small scratches do not reduce the
protective effect of your helmet.
B. CHANGES TO THE HELMET, CLEANING
This helmet has been tested and approved according to the relevant standards in series produc-
tion.
ATTENTION!
Changes to the helmet, particularly the application of paints, stickers, detergents, chemicals
and solvents can seriously affect the safety of your helmet.
Repairs may make use of original parts only.
Clean your helmet with CASCO Helmet Cleaner or using water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Use
CASCO Helmet Refresher to disinfect/refresh the interior. The padding in some helmets is machine
washable. The padding in these helmets bears the corresponding care symbols.
SIDE HEARING PROTECTION:
Some ski/snowboard models are fitted with removable hearing protection for replacement or
washing. This must be fitted back properly in the helmet before use if it is to provide its full
protective capacity.
C. STORAGE
Air dry your helmet after each use and store it in a cool, dry place. High temperatures (including in
direct sunlight, behind glass, in dark bags and luggage compartments) can seriously damage the
helmet. CASCO helmets which also have a "Monocoque inmold" are heat resistant up to 100˚C.
For protected storage and transportation, we recommend the CASCO Softbox.
ATTENTION! Do not use heat damaged helmets!
D. WARRANTY
CASCO provides a two year material and manufacturing warranty. The warranty does NOT
cover normal wear and tear, alterations to the product by the customer, damage resulting from
accidents or improper use. The original purchase receipt bearing the dealer's stamp and purchase
date must be submitted as evidence of valid warranty claims.
E. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR SAFETY
INJURIES DON'T NEED HIGH SPEEDS! The protection a helmet provides depends on the circum-
stances of the accident, and wearing a protective helmet does not always prevent fatal accidents
or prolonged invalidity. The helmet offers significant impact protection, but no helmet can provide
unlimited protection against injuries. Therefore, the wearer is urged to behave responsibly.
ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET WHEN SKIING OR SNOWBOARDING, AND BE CAREFUL! THE HELMET CAN
14
ONLY PROTECT WHAT IT COVERS!
Always wear your helmet in the correct position. A helmet cannot protect the neck or uncovered
areas of the head. To ensure the greatest possible protection, the helmet must be tight, the straps
should always be used and properly adjusted as instructed.
THE HELMET SHOULD NOT BE USED BY CHILDREN FOR CLIMBING OR OTHER GAMES IN WHICH
THERE IS A STRANGULATION HAZARD.
ATTENTION!
This helmet was developed specifically for the protection of skiers and snowboarders. It must
not be used for other sports or for riding a motorcycle.
This helmet is made of materials which are not known to cause skin irritation or other health
effects to users of normal health. Do not use the helmet if you have a reaction!
Please contact your local disposal company to dispose of the helmet.
