Using the supplied
accessories

Neck lanyard
Place the unit face-down.
1 Pull out the neck lanyard ring.
2 Attach the neck lanyard.
Take care that the lanyard does not
get caught and choke you.

Wrist band
Cut off any excess band after
adjusting it to the required length.
1 Press both releases to open the
clasp.
2 Put the unit into the wristband so
the bottom is facing up and the
buttons are positioned correctly.
3 Fit the loose end of the cover to
the wristband to fix the unit in
place.
4 Open the adjuster, adjust the
band to the required length and
fix in place with the pin.
5 Close the adjuster.
6 Put the wristband on and close
the clasp.
Care and use
Main unit and Supplied
accessories
• Keep the SD Memory Card out of
the reach of children to prevent
them from swallowing it.
• Discontinue use if you experience
discomfort with the earphones or
any other parts that directly contact
your skin.
Continued use may cause rashes
or other allergic reactions.
• Leave some slack in the cord of the
earphones or the neck lanyard if
you wind it around the unit.
Do not;
• play
your
headphones
earphones at a high volume.
• disassemble, remodel, drop, or
allow the unit to get wet.
• use or store in locations directly
exposed to sunlight, a heat vent, or
a heating appliance.
• use or store in humid or dusty
locations.
• use or store in locations exposed to
corrosive gases.
• insert objects other than SD
Memory Cards.
• use force to open the battery lid or
card cover.
• use cracked or warped cards.
• detach the label on the card or
attach other labels or stickers.

To protect your data
• Switch the write-protect switch a
of the SD Memory Card to "LOCK".
Unlock when you want to record or
edit the card again.
• Do not touch the metal terminals of
the card with your hands or metal
objects.
• Use an oil-based felt pen to write in
the memo space b . Do not use
pencil or ballpoint pen as these can
damage the card.
Batteries
Remove the battery if the unit is not to
this
be used for a long time.
Do not;
• recharge
ordinary
batteries.
• disassemble, short-circuit, or put in
a fire or water.
• peel off the cover or use if the
cover has been peeled off.
• keep together with metallic objects
such as necklaces.
Mishandling of batteries can cause
electrolyte
leakage
which
damage items the fluid contacts and
may cause a fire.
If electrolyte leaks from the battery,
consult your dealer.
Wash thoroughly with water if electro-
lyte comes in contact with any part of
your body.
Maintenance
Clean the cabinet, panel and controls
with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any
type
of
abrasive
pad,
powder or solvent such as alcohol or
benzine.
Batteries (not included)
• Use alkaline batteries. You cannot
use manganese batteries.
• If rechargeable batteries are to be
used,
rechargeable
manufactured by Panasonic are
recommended.
• Do not use the rechargeable
batteries designed for use with
Panasonic's portable CD players.
Using this type of battery can
cause short-circuiting.

Inserting the battery
1 Slide the battery lid up and out.
2 Insert the battery in the correct
polarities.
3 Close the lid and press down to
lock.

Battery indicator
• When
the
indicator
replace the dry cell battery with a
new one.
• To save the clock, change the
battery within 30 seconds.
Hold function

This function stops the unit from
responding when a button is pressed.
It prevents the following:
• The unit turning on unexpectedly,
causing the battery to go dead.
• Play being interrupted when a

button is accidentally pressed.
Listening

1 Set to NORMAL.
2 Connect
the
earphones
and
extender firmly.
You
can
connect
earphones directly to the unit.
3 Insert an SD Memory Card
with tracks recorded.
Place the unit face-down.
1 Push the card cover up, and
allow it to spring open.
2 Insert the card so the label is
facing up and the end with the
corner cut off is facing in.
3 Press on the center of the card
so it locks into place and close
the cover.
4 Press.
The unit comes on and starts play.
5 Adjust the volume.
Press

To stop play and turn the unit
off
Press [a].

The unit turns off about ten seconds

Resume
When you next press [a], play
resumes from where you stopped it.
Play starts from track 1 if you replace
the card or battery.

Playlists created with Panasonic
Media Manager cannot be played.

position (N).
"?" flashes and the total number
of playlists a is displayed.
2 Press.

The tracks in the playlist are

• If you select a playlist while the unit
is stopped, press [a] to start

• To play all the tracks on the SD

playlist) in step 3.
• If you want to stop the above oper-
ation partway, set the mode dial to
NORMAL.
