IMPORTANT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
•
When performing a test with the engine running, pay particular attention to moving parts in the
engine compartment. Tools, clothing and other parts can caught in rotating components and
cause serious injuries.
•
Take care when touching test components or engine parts, they can get very hot and cause
burns.
•
Check the pressure hose for damage caused by heat or cuts and ensure that there is sufficient
clearance between rotating, sharp-edged or hot components during assembly before starting the
test. Never use the pressure hose if it is damaged.
USE
1.
Let the engine run until the operating temperature is reached.
2.
Remove the relevant component of the oil pressure circuit and replace the component with a
suitable adapter.
3.
Connect the pressure hose and the meter with the selected adapter.
4.
Start the engine and follow the specific instructions of the manufacturer.
5.
Note the displayed values and turn off the engine. Now compare the values listed with the default
values of the manufacturer.
6.
Press the pressure release valve, depressurized the test device and remove all test components.
7.
Reinstall the component of the oil pressure circuit that was removed before starting the test
NOTE
These instructions do not replace vehicle-specific service literature in any way. Refer to the service
literature for the exact test routine, e.g. required rotation speed at which the measurement is made,
standard values of the manufacturer and other important information. Vehicle-specific data should be
available during the test; without this data, a misdiagnosis cannot be ruled out.
