3. Position the Bath
IMPORTANT! Risk of product damage. Do not lift or move the bath by the apron or apron braces. Lift
the bath by the rim at multiple points.
NOTE: If your bath is shipped with a liner, keep the liner in place until construction is complete. If a liner
is not available, place a clean drop cloth or similar material in the bottom of the bath.
Add a drop cloth or other protective liner to the bath.
Install the drain and overflow assembly according to the drain manufacturer's instructions. Do not
connect the trap at this time.
IMPORTANT! Risk of product damage. Verify that the apron braces are attached before installing the
bath.
Position the provided felt pad under the bath supports.
Position and adjust the bath until its outside edge is flush with the finished walls.
Verify that the bath is level and well supported by the floor. If not, shim the bath using metal,
hardwood, or other durable material.
Reposition and shim the bath until it is both aligned with the finished wall and level.
Install a Mortar Bed (Optional)
Remove the bath and felt pad.
NOTE: Do not use gypsum cement or drywall compound for this application, as they will not provide
adequate support.
NOTE: The bath supports must rest directly on the subfloor.
Build a dam to keep the flooring material clear of the drain area.
Spread a 2" (5.1 cm) layer of mortar on the subfloor, spreading it so each area the bath will contact
the subfloor has mortar. Allow room for the mortar to expand from the weight of the bath.
Allow the mortar to set.
Remove the dams.
Move the bath into position.
Verify that the bath is level and resting on all supports.
