Unit(s): All reusable instruments delivered by KaWe including fi xed constructions (no movable parts) and simple link systems, with exception of all instruments
with an aluminium alloy.
Warning:
Special attention must be paid to the cleaning of reusable instruments (long insertions of cannulas and blind holes). Do not exceed 134°C .
Limitation of reprocessing:
Frequent reprocessing infl uences the instruments only unimportantly. The working life of the instruments usually depends on the wear and tear and
damage by use.
Instructions
Workstation: Remove dirt accumulation on surfaces with a disposable fabric.
Storage and transport:
No special requirements. It is recommended to reprocess the instruments immediately after use.
Cleaning preparation: No special requirements
Manual cleaning:
In order to avoid dirt accumulation and dust, always store the unit in its the packaging. The outside of the unit can be cleaned with a damp, soft and fl uff -free
fabric. For disinfection, a fabric moistened with alcohol can be used.
Never bring the otoscope into contact with liquid and make sure that no liquid penetrates the housing! Since the otoscope is not destined for operations,
simple cleaning and/or disinfection with a surface disinfectant on an alcoholic base is suffi cient. Do not use any scrubbing cleansing agents! The unit cannot
be sterilized. Please clean magnifying glass only with glass purifying agent.
Automatic cleaning: No automatic cleaning possible/ required.
Disinfection:
Only for reusable ear funnels made e.g. of helipur. The concentrations and reaction times given by the manufacturers must be followed.
Maintenance:
Defective parts must be sorted out and/or replaced.
Check and performance test:
The smooth running of all movable parts like the frames of magnifying glasses and plug-in connections must be ensured. Turn on the unit.
For all units: Carry out visual check of the parts with regard to damages and wear.
Packaging:
Individual packaging: A standard polyethylene bag can be used. The size of the bag must correspond to the size of the instrument so that the closure is
not under tension.
Sterilization:
Reusable funnels must be sterilized in the autoclave at a temperature of 134°C for 20 minutes minimum.
Storage: No special requirements.
Additional information:
In the case of sterilization of diff erent instruments in the autoclave, the maximum load given by the manufacturer must not be exceeded.

When used under normal circumstances and with attention to these instructions (except glow lamp and battery) we guarantee this product for 2 years after
the date of purchase (except glow lamp). Should you need further information or should your instrument require repair, please contact your dealer!
