1) Remove the spark plug cap.
DANGER
Be careful if the engine has been running as the
exhaust will be very hot. Be careful not to touch
it to avoid burns.
2) Perform a visual inspection of the spark plug.
Replace it if you notice that the insulator is
cracked or broken.
3) Measure the distance between the electrodes
with a gauge. The distance between the two
should be between 0.7-0.8mm. Correct the
distance by bending the electrode.
4) Put the spark plug washer and screw on the
spark plug by hand to avoid threading it.
5. Tighten the new spark plug with ½ turn with a
wrench to compress the washer. If you are using
the spark plug that you already had, you will
only need to perform ½ to ¼ turn for the spark
plug to settle.
CAUTION: Check that the spark plug is tight. A
poorly placed spark plug can get very hot and
damage the engine. Never use a spark plug of
inappropriate temperature range.

7. CLUTCH CABLE ADJUSTMENT

Measure the clearance at the tip of the lever.
The clearance should be between 3-8mm. If the
clearance is not correct, loosen the lock nut and
turn the adjusting screw in or out as required.

8. THROTTLE CABLE ADJUSTMENT

Measure the clearance at the tip of the lever.
The clearance should be between 5 - 10mm.
If the clearance is not appropriate, loosen the
lock nut and turn the adjusting screw in or out
accordingly.

9. BELT TENSION ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the clutch lever clearance. The standard
tension of the drive belt is 60-65mm on the
roller with the clutch gear (with the clutch lever
pressed).
To adjust it, loosen the four engine retaining
screws and the engine tension bolt and move
the engine forward or backward until you get the
proper belt tension.
OBSERVATION: After adjusting the belt tension,
check that the outer face of the attack pulley is
level with the outer face of the drive pulley, using
a gauge.
