Safety Rules for Worklights
WARNING: Burn hazard. Do not
operate flashlight near flammable
liquids or in gaseous or explosive
atmospheres. Internal sparks may ignite
fumes causing personal injury.
WARNING: Shock hazard. Remove
battery pack before replacing the
fluorescent bulb.
• Vision may be impaired when looking directly
into fluorescent light.
• Do not expose light to wet or damp areas. Use
only in dry locations. Do not allow any liquid to
get inside worklight. Do not submerge worklight
in any liquid.
• The worklight is intended for household and
commercial use.
• Do not operate without lens cover assembly
attached.
• Before using battery, read all instructions and
cautionary markings on battery pack, and
product using battery pack.
• This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
WARNING: Shock hazard. Do not allow
any liquid to get inside worklight. Electric
shock may result.
CAUTION: Under certain conditions,
with the worklight plugged in to the
power supply, the exposed contacts
inside the worklight can be shorted
by foreign material. Foreign materials
of a conductive nature such as, but
not limited to, steel wool, aluminum
foil, or any buildup of metallic particles
should be kept away from charger
cavities. Always unplug worklight before
attempting to clean.
• In case of damaged power supply cord the
supply cord must be replaced immediately by
the manufacturer, its service agent or similar
qualified person to prevent any hazard.
• Do not expose worklight to rain or snow.
The worklight is intended for household and
commercial use.

• Make sure cord is located so that it will not
be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise
subjected to damage or stress.
• Do not use an extension cord unless it is
absolutely necessary. Use of an improper
extension cord could result in risk of fire, electric
shock or electrocution.
• Place the worklight in a position away from any
heat source.
• Do not place any object on top of worklight
or place the worklight on a soft surface that
might block the ventilation slots and result in
excessive internal heat. Place the worklight in
a position away from any heat source.
• Do not operate worklight with a damaged
cord or plug — have them replaced
immediately.
• Do not operate the worklight if it has received
a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise
damaged in any way. Take it to an authorised
service center.
• Do not disassemble worklight. Take it to an
authorized service center when service or
repair is required. Incorrect reassembly may
result in a risk of electric shock, electrocution or
fire.
• Disconnect the worklight from the outlet
before attempting any cleaning. This will
reduce the risk of electric shock. Removing
the battery pack will not reduce this risk.
• The DC020 (230 V) worklights are designed
to operate on 230 Volts, 50 Hz AC (except
outlets). The DC020 (115 V) is designed
to operate on 115 Volts, 50 Hz AC. It also
operates on direct current (DC) through a
fully charged battery pack. Do not use any
other voltage.
Residual Risks
• The following risks are inherent to the use of this
appliance:
– impaired vision when looking directly into
fluorescent light
– burns from touching a hot bulb
Grounding Instructions
The DC020 (230 V) worklight must be grounded. In
the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding
provides a path of least resistance for electric current
to reduce the risk of electric shock. The worklight
are equipped with a cord having an equipment-
grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The
