Installation And Assembly; Technical Specifications - Siemens PS 307 2A Instrucciones De Servicio

ENGLISH

Installation and assembly:

To ensure adequate cooling, the device must be installed vertically, with the input and output terminals at the bottom.
Be sure to leave a minimum clearance of 40 mm (1.5 in.) above and below the device. The supply voltage (120/230 V
AC) must be connected in accordance with IEC 60364 and EN 50178. A protective device (fuse) and an isolating device
for disconnecting the power supply must be provided. For operation in hazardous applications it must be ensured that
the equipment is installed in a suitable enclosure in accordance with EN60079-15 (taking into account the ambient
operating conditions) and that precautions are taken against transient overvoltage that is 40% greater than the rated
value. The power supply is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D hazardous locations, or non-
hazardous locations only.
Danger / Warning:
!
The mains switch has to be switched off and prevented from being switched on again before installation or
maintenance. If this warning is ignored, contact with live parts or improper use can result in death or serious personal
injury. Explosion Hazard: Do not disconnect equipment while the circuit is live or unless the area is known to be free of
ignitable concentrations. Substitution of any component may impair suitability for Class I, Division 2. Exposure to some
chemicals may degrade the sealing properties of materials used in the internal sealed relay device.
Description and design:
The PS 307 24 V/2 A, 5 A, and 10 A power supplies are rail-mounted, built-in units. The relevant DIN/VDE regulations or
equivalent local regulations must be observed during installation. Primary switched-mode power supply for mounting
on an S7-300 rail. For hardwired connection to a 120 or 230 V, 50/60 Hz single-phase AC system. Output voltage +24 V
DC, potential-free, protected against short-circuit and open-circuit conditions. Parallel connection of two similar devices
to increase the power is permitted (provided the line impedances are equal to the load).
