Wireless Optical Flash Mode (S1, S2)
These two modes are suitable for manual flash environment and TTL flash environ-
ment . Within these modes the way to adjust the output level is like the way in M
mode . When using S1/S2 mode, you can rotate the flash head to make the wireless
triggering sensor face the master flash .
Setting method: Press the button A repeatedly until S1 / S2 mode is highlighted .
S1 Mode: It will work with the first trigger of the master flash synchronously .
The master flash should be set into manual mode .
S2 Mode: It is also called "pre-flash cancel mode" . It can neglect the pre-flash
given by TTL flash, and therefore it can support the main flash working in TTL
mode .
Note: If the SLAVE light doesn't sync flash with the MASTER flash light in S1/S2
mode, please set the optical model of SLAVE light and power output correctly .
Please avoid the following situations mentioned below:
• Avoid MASTER light to use red eye reduction function
• Avoid MASTER light to use instruction mode (Nikon) or wireless mode (Canon)
• Avoid MASTER light to use ST-E2 and the vice factory master flash as a flash
controller .
Note: If your camera does not have a built-in flash (such as Canon 5D, 5D II, 5D III),
it is unable to use the SLAVE c/SLAVE n S1/S2 or Slave mode separately . Because
the SLAVE c/SLAVE n or S1/S2 mode require to use the Master light exposure . If you
need to use this feature, you need to purchase the original Canon flash or ST-E2 as
a flash controller .
