Range test
Set the TIME controller to minimum, the LUX
controller to „Sun" and the METER controller to
maximum (Fig. E). If the motion detector is
connected to a separate switch, switch it on. A
self-test, lasting 60 seconds, will now begin. The
sensor LED and connected system (e.g. a light)
will remain on throughout the test. When the
system goes out, the range test will begin:
whenever movement is detected, the system will
switch on for approx. 6 seconds, regardless of the
ambient brightness. Perform this test to establish the
fi eld of detection. Set the METER controller to the re-
levant setting. Once the device has been successfully
set, you can programme additional settings.
Troubleshooting – Practical tips
Problem
Cause
Motion detector switches
• Detection range setting
the light on too late
• Movement from the front
Motion detector fails to
• Motion detector is mounted too low
achieve maximum range
• Diff erence in temperature between heat source
and surroundings is not big enough
Additional settings (Fig. E)
LUX twilight switch approx. 5 - 1000 Lux. When
you turn the LUX controller (the lowest
setting is „Moon"), the sensor LED will
light up if movement is detected and if the
ambient brightness is reached or exceeded.
This enables you to defi ne the current light
intensity value (setting aid).
TIME sets the duration of the ON period, approx.
6 seconds to 5 mins.
