1. Switch the appliance off and observe the instructions

2. Turn the exhaust filter cover (Fig. 32/1) clockwise to
open and remove the cover.
3. Remove the exhaust filter holder (Fig. 32/2) with the ex-

haust filter element (Fig. 32/3) by turning it clockwise.
4. Hold the exhaust filter holder (Fig. 32/2) with the filter el-
ement (Fig. 32/3) low over a dustbin and only then sep-
arate the two elements from each other.
5. Tap the dust from both elements over the dustbin and
remove larger accumulations of dirt by hand.
6. Also rinse both elements thoroughly by hand in clear
running cold or hand-warm water.
ATTENTION:
The filter elements are washable, but may not be
cleaned in dishwashers or washing-machines. Also, do
not use detergents or brushes with hard bristles to clean

the filters. Let the filters dry for approx 24 hours at room
temperature after cleaning. Only put them back into the
appliance when they are completely dry.
7. If the filter elements are damaged or too dirty for wet
cleaning, replace them by new ones( Chapter 5.2,
"Spare parts").
8. Put the cleaned or new exhaust filter element (Fig. 33/
1) back into the exhaust filter holder (Fig. 33/2).
9. Put the holder with the new or cleaned exhaust filter
back into its receptacle in the wheel of the cylinder vac-
uum cleaner.
10. Finally, replace the exhaust filter cover (Fig. 32/1) and
lock it by turning it counter-clockwise.
