6. Operation of the Device
a. Power ON/Power OFF/HOLD reading
The meter is activated automatically by holding the MEASURE button. The first reading is displayed on the LCD.
Release the MEASURE button : the last reading is held for 5 seconds before the device is automatically deactivated.
b. Selecting the Temperature Units
Hold the MEASURE button and press the C/F button to toggle between °Celsius and °Fahrenheit.
c. Data Hold
The device automatically holds the last reading for 5 seconds after MEASURE has been released. This means that
no button has to be pressed in order to freeze the displayed reading.
d. Backlight
Hold MEASURE and press the BACKLIGHT button to activate the backlight. Press this button again to deactivate
the backlight.
e. Laser Pointer
Hold MEASURE and press the LASER button to switch on the laser pointer. Press this button again to switch it off.
f. Important Considerations
Hold the meter by the handle and aim the IR sensor at the target. When performing its temperature measurements
from a distance, this device takes into account the current ambient temperature. Keep in mind that the device will
need a full 30 minutes to adjust to significant changes in ambient temperature.
