Intended use
The ultrasonic energy meter type 4.1.2 serves exclusively the physically correct data
collection of energy consumption. The meter is an energy meter for universal use in sys-
tems for heat and cold measurement. The meter is suitable for water circulating in heating
systems (water without additives, exceptions: see AGFW FW510).
If a sealing or user lock of an installed meter is damaged or removed by a person not com-
missioned by Techem, this meter can no longer be used for legally compliant consumption
recording and the calibration may become invalid.
Safety and hazard information
Ö The regulations for the use of energy meters must be observed.
Ö The piping system must be fully earthed.
Ö Lightning protection must be guaranteed via the house installation.
Ö Clean the meter only from the outside using a soft, damp cloth.
Power supply
Lithium battery 3.6 V (not a hazardous good), designed to last for the service life of the
meter.
Cannot be replaced.
Device properties
The energy meter is available in the following versions:
• Heat meter for heat energy measurement ( )
• Cold meter for cold energy measurement ( )
• Combination meter for the combined heat and cold energy measurement (heat with
declared conformity) (
• The computer unit is detachable.
• Temperatures will be measured every 32 seconds. Special variant with 4-seconds tem-
perature measuring rate available, with restrictions.
• Programming and read-out possible via TAVO.
Adjustable device properties when commissioning:
• Installation location of the volume measuring section in the inlet (
outlet (
) (see display).

The device properties can only be changed during commissioning. An energy
progress of 10 kWh or 0.036 GJ is considered a locking condition. Afterwards,
the device properties can no longer be changed.
