1 Applications
This UV spotlight generates closely focussed
black light and can be used in an optimum way
for creating effects on stage, in discothèques,
clubs, bars or at events. The invisible UV radia-
tion exites fluors (e. g. white areas and material
fibres, black light luminous colours) to emit light.

the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit is supplied with hazard-
ous mains voltage (230 V~).
Leave servicing to skilled person-
nel only. Never make any modifi-
cation not described in this
instruction manual. This may
cause an electric shock hazard.

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead
.
of this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows:

low must be connected to the terminal in the
plug which is marked with the letter E or by
the earth symbol
green and yellow.

tion definitively, take it to a local
recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment.
3 Inserting a Lamp
The unit is supplied without UV lamp. A high-
pressure mercury vapour lamp 230 V~/400 W
with base E 40 (e. g. UVBGB-400 from the pro-
duct range of "img Stage Line") is required.
Never use a lamp with a higher wattage than
400 W!

1) Unscrew the two lateral recessed head
screws (see arrows) at the protective grid (3)
and remove it.
2) For handling the lamp, use a clean, soft cloth,
the glass bulb should not be touched with
your fingers. Screw the lamp into the lamp-
holder.
3) Screw down the grid. Never operate the unit
without protective grid!
4 Mounting
The place of mounting must be chosen so that a
sufficient air circulation is ensured during opera-
tion. Pay in any case attention to a sufficient
distance to easily flammable material or material
sensitive to heat.
The distance to illuminated objects must
be 2 m as a minimum.
1) Mount the unit with a support for light effect
units (C-hook) or a stable mounting screw via
the bracket (1) to a cross arm or a stand.
WARNING The unit must be mounted in a
safe and expert way. If it is
installed as a suspended load
above persons, it must addi-
tionally be secured, e. g. by a
safety rope. Guide the safety
rope through the safety lug (2)
and fix it in such a way that the
maximum falling distance of
the unit is 20 cm.
2) To align the unit, slightly release the two
screws (4) at the bracket, incline the unit as
desired, and retighten the screws.
5 Setting into Operation
WARNING – UV radiation!
During operation, high UV radia-
tion occurs very close to the lamp.
With increased sensitivity of the
skin to UV light, keep a distance.
To prevent eye damage by UV
light, never look directly into the lit
lamp.
To switch on the unit, connect the mains plug (5)
to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz), disconnect it
for switching off. After switching on, the lamp
needs approx. 3 to 4 minutes until it will reach its
full luminous power.
For a more convenient operation it is recom-
mended to connect the unit to a mains socket
which can be switched on and off via a light
switch.
Note: If the unit is disconnected from the mains
for a short time only and then set into op-
eration again, the lamp does not light up
again immediately. It must first cool down
(5 to 10 minutes) to be able to restart.
