You are now ready to connect the audio
amplifi er. Before you do this, do two things;
1. Turn the volume knob on the audio
amplifi er fully anticlockwise (If you do not
do this, the amplifi er and the loudspeakers
may be damaged if there is power to the
ActivBoard).
2. Make sure that the audio amplifi er will
not be obstructed by the ActivBoard
internal wiring.
Now you can engage the amplifi er with the
mounting rails and slide it into the correct
position.
Push the audio amplifi er in fully to connect
the electrical tabs with the multi-socket
which is inside the ActivBoard internal
already .
Secure the audio amplifi er to the
ActivBoard with the screws from the cover
panel. Take care not to over-tighten.
screws may strip the threads of the screw
holes.
You are now ready to connect the
ActivBoard power interconnect lead and

the USB lead at the back of the ActivBoard.
It is recommended to look at the diagrams
and identify the power and USB sockets on
the ActivBoard, before starting this part of
the installation.
For electrical safety, an insulating shroud
is supplied for the USB lower connector,

which should be fi tted over the USB lead
as shown, before the lead is inserted in the
ActivBoard lower USB socket..

Secure the leads to the back of the
ActivBoard with the self-adhesive cable ties.
You must also fasten the leads together with
the smaller, single-use cable ties.

Attach the self-adhesive label 'Product
Upgraded' at the back of the ActivBoard,
next to the existing product label.
e audio amplifi er has two large round
female sockets at the bottom.

You can connect power supply DT6018 to
either of these sockets to supply power to
the ActivBoard.
If you wish to connect further input and

output devices to expand the audio
capability of your ActivBoard system,
you should do this now. Ensure that all
knobs and settings aff ecting the volume
output are set to the MINIMUM level
before powering on the ActivBoard.
Connect the mains input plug to a mains
power outlet socket, which may be wall or
stand-mounted.

classroom computer USB, it will also be
powered ON.

Press the ON/STANDBY button to power
ON the audio amplifi er. When the button
becomes GREEN, release it.

Turn the treble and bass knobs to the centre
position. Adjust the volume control on your
selected audio device to its minimum and
start playback.
Increase the volume gradually on connected
input devices and on the audio card.
Caution: if the sound from the loudspeakers
is distorted, reduce the volume immediately.
Change settings as appropriate before
increasing the volume.
