Connecting batteries (I) or (II)
Leica standard batteries (GEB111,
GEB121) have four contact
surfaces, while batteries from other
manufacturers have three contacts.
The charger can differentiate
between these types and adapt the
charging procedure accordingly.
CAUTION:
With camcorder batteries
having three contacts, the
following requirements must be
fulfilled as otherwise serious damage
could result:
• 6V voltage
• only NiCd or NiMH cells
• minimum capacity: NiCd
1500mAh, NiMH 1800mAh
• compatible contacts (+, T, - in one
row)
Camcorder batteries manufacturers
which meet these conditions are
quickly charged with a charging
current of 1.8A and the temperature
is monitored simultaneously.
On adapter plate GDI121 (item no.
667124) camcorder batteries with 3
contacts cannot be charged.

WARNING:
For safety reasons, only Lei-
ca Geosystems lithium
(LiIon) batteries may be connected.
Battery connections (III) or (IV)
(see "Most important elements")
Leica batteries with 5-pin charging
plugs (e.g. GEB 87, GEB 70, ...) are
connected to these two connections
with the charging cable.
Leica batteries with 2-pin charging
plugs can also be connected using
an adapter cable.
