When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
I Read all instructions carefully.
I Do not touch hot surfaces - use handles or
knobs.
I To protect against electrical hazards, do not
allow water or other liquids to spill onto the
plug or cord, or to enter the switch mecha-
nism or power cord area. Do not immerse
cord, plug, or the outer pot in water or other
liquids.
I Always use Rice Cooker on a dry, level sur-
face. Never put liquid into the outer pot, only
into the inner pot.
I Lift and open cover carefully to avoid scald-
ing, and allow water from condensation to
drip into the Cooking Bowl.
I Never plug in without the inner Cooking Bowl
inside the outer pot.
I Close supervision is necessary when an elec-
trical appliance is used by, or near children.
I The use of attachments not recommended or
sold by the appliance manufacturer may
cause hazards.
I Turn OFF and unplug from outlet when not in
use; allow to cool before disassembling parts
and before cleaning.
I Extreme caution must be used when moving
an appliance containing hot water or other
liquids.
I Do not use outdoors.
I Do no operate any appliance with a damaged
cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunc-
tions or has been dropped, or damaged in any
manner. Return the complete appliance to
your nearest authorized service facility for
examination, repair or adjustment.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
I Do not place any part of this appliance on or
near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heat-
ed oven.
I To disconnect, raise the lever to "WARM"
then remove plug from outlet.
I Do not allow cord to hang over edge of table
or counter or touch hot surfaces.
I Keep the space between the inner Cooking
Bowl and the heating plate clean and free
from any foreign particles.
I Do not use appliance for other than intended
use of food preparation and service. This
appliance is intended for household use only.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug—one
blade is wider than the other. To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug will fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does
not fit fully into the outlet, reverse it. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by
modifying the plug in any way.
ELECTRICAL CORD
The cord of this appliance was selected to
reduce the possibility of tangling in or tripping
over a longer cord. If more length is needed,
use an Underwriters Laboratories (UL)-Listed
or Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
approved extension cord rated no less than
15-amperes and 120 volts. When using an
extension cord, do not let it drape over the
working area or dangle where someone could
accidentally trip over it. Handle cord carefully
for longer life; avoid jerking or straining it at
outlet and appliance connections.
