Important notes

General note
New generations of common rail pumps with
injection pressures up to 180 MPa require an
adjustment of the CRS 845 test set. These
instructions show how to convert the CRS
845 test set for the required maximum test
pressure of 180 MPa. For this, the high-
pressure rail must be converted and the
new system software and firmware must be
installed or updated.
These instructions are a supplement to
the existing instructions for the EPS 815
and the KMA 802/822 electronic metering
system. These instructions are only valid in
conjunction with the existing instructions and
they must be kept and forwarded together
with them.

General tools for electricians and
mechanics
Torque wrench 10 - 200 Nm with 36 mm
jaw span.

Converting the high-pressure rail
Procedure:
1.
Switch off EPS at mains switch.

Disconnect hose (items 1 and 2) and
connection lines (items 3 to 5) from the
high-pressure rail and detach.

Remove fastening screws (item 6).
4.
Remove high-pressure rail and clamp in
a vice.

Screw in high-pressure relief valve (item 7).

Oil the thread of the high-pressure relief valve
before installing.
6.
Screw in high-pressure relief valve (item 9)
and tighten to 70 Nm.
7.
Turn high-pressure relief valve through 90°
to loosen and tighten again to 100 Nm.
8.
Screw hose manifold (item 10) into the
threaded hole on the high-pressure relief
valve facing the test bench and tighten.
