m Initial Operation
Warning: Disconnect the mains plug and set the switch to
the OFF position before performing the settings described
in the following.
Note:
The machine must be connected to a suction plant with
a flexible, hardly inflammable suction line prior to the ini-
tial operation. The suction plant must automatically turn
on when the belt grinding machine is turned on. The flow
speed at the suction connector must be 20 m/s.
A) Vertical grinding
1. Height adjustment of the main table, Fig. 4
1. Release the two adjusting screws A at the right and left
sides underneath the table.
2. Turn the hand wheel located at the front of the frame
clockwise until the desired height has been achieved.
3. Tighten the two adjusting screws A again.
2. Exchanging the grinding belt, Fig. 5
Loosen the three quick acting closures of the side cover.
Open cover C by releasing the two top screws. Lift the ten-
sion lever D to release the grinding belt E. Then, remove
the grinding belt and replace it with a new one. Then, re-
set the handle D to tension the grinding belt.
Note: When inserting the grinding belt please note the ar-
rows that are printed on the inside of the belt. They indi-
cate the correct direction of rotation.
Close all protective devices before using the machine
again.
Adjusting the grinding belt, Fig. 6
Note: During the operation the grinding belt should move
within the slideway lining.
Corrections can be made as follows at the floating arm:
1. Release the nut G.
2. Turn the nut F clockwise to move the belt to the bottom.
If you turn the nut in the opposite direction the belt is
moved to the top.
3. Then, tighten nut G again.
B) Horizontal grinding, Fig. 7 and 8
1. First release the two clamping levers B underneath the
table and pull the table to the front.
2. Firmly hold the tilting unit at the handle underneath
the motor. After pulling the grid pin R, the tilting unit
can be moved into the required position and fastened
by means of the clamping screw H.
3. Release the clamping screw A. Adjust the table to the
desired height, then shift it to the sanding belt I. The
clearance between table and sanding belt should be
approx. 2 mm. Finally retighten the clamping levers B
and the clamping screws A.
C) Curve grinding, Fig. 9 and 10
1. Release the quick acting closure and then open cover
J. Fasten it using the second quick acting closure.
2. Release the three hexagon socket screws of the cover
K. Assemble the grinding spindle L by screwing in three
M5 x 15 hexagon socket screws.
3. Mount the grinding roller with the abrasive sleeve
M using a shim and a hexagon head screw (6.35 x
12.7 mm). Now, you can begin with the curve grinding
operation.
