Product Safety Information

Intended Use:
A Torque Arm is a mechanical device which holds hand operated pneumatic or electric nutrunners and screwdrivers. They are intended
to be used in fastening applications and are designed to reduce or eliminate the tool torque reaction and tool weight experienced by
the operator.
Arms can rise/fall unexpectedly. Keep clear.
Spring Balancer Models
• Connecting/disconnecting the balancer cable to the Bearing while the bearing is in mid-stroke can cause arms to rise/fall unexpectedly.
• Breakage of balancer cable or severe wear to hardware can cause arms to fall unexpectedly.
Air Cylinder Models
• Supplying/Removing air pressure to air cylinders while regulator is fully open can cause arms to rise/fall unexpectedly.
• Rupture of the air hose or severe wear to hardware can cause arms to fall unexpectedly.
Be aware of pinch points.
When using an electric or pneumatic tool, all pertinent electrical and pneumatic safety regulations for the tool must be adhered to
when installing and using these Torque Arms.
For additional information refer to Torque Arms Safety Information Manual 45546967.

Installation
Cables and hoses should be installed with no sharp flexing, and are located to minimize abrasive rubbing.
Torque Arms operate best when arms are between 45 and 135 degrees of each other. Avoid operating Torque Arms when are fully extended
or fully folded.
Apply tape or sealant to ALL pipe threads when attaching air supply.
Install filter upstream of regulator.
Torque Arm:
Torque Arms should be mounted to a surface with sufficient rigidity and support to withstand torque reaction and total weight of Torque Arm
assembly and tool. Table 1 below shows the mounting dimensions for each Torque Arm base plate.
